August is shaping up to be a busy month.  We are looking forward to visiting one of our kids tomorrow, a food tasting with the caterer for our daughter's wedding reception, attending several Southern Gospel concerts, and a weekend visit to see my sister at the end of the month.

That it will be closer to October, one of my favorite months - fall foliage and crisper weather.

The month of August I was looking forward to the ice rink having more Public Skating Sessions. Instead? Yesterday skating I grabbed their August schedule!

Shocking. Skated 3 times a week in July(except when City wide power outage) shut it down for 5 days. Going back to my usual, 1 day at a time looking at the future. Dang it anyways!

And even looking less forward to August as my wife(❤) will be gone Pet Sitting most of the month. Following her many jobs in the last 2 weeks of July. She will however be coming home tomorrow, but only for 1 night.

Well not technically August but rather the tail end of July, in just a few hours!

We are going out to dinner at the island's most popular and very $pendy restaurant. It will be out fistr time out to dine inside anywhere in over a year and a half!

We've been looking forward to it since our reservations at same restaurant were cancelled in May 2020.  They completely closed as did all restaurants here.  When they finally reopened in March/April, today's date was the first available reservation we could get. So this outing and dining experience is something special. 

I just hope that all we bring home later is more good memories and maybe a "doggie bag".  Will likely be nervous until up to 2 weeks after.

I'm looking forward to less humidity...like a lot less humidity. This monsoon season seems like it's never going to end and it seems like it's longer than usual this year. idk.

The end of Christmas In July

We're going on vacation in a few days.  It has been two years since we went anywhere, so we're all looking forward to getting away.

We have a bunch of family events and few fun parties of our own that we will be attending/hosting this month.  It seems like this whole summer has been spent making up for lost time.  Seeing family and friends again has made us all very happy, especially our girls.  It makes me feel good to see them looking forward to things again.  It has been difficult on them to not see their family as much as they did before everything happened.

Although August is still a very hot month on Long Island, there is a noticable cool down in the evening and early morning hours.  I do look forward to that every year as well.

Winter, cold and snow! Love it!🌬❄

I was born and raised at the Jersey Shore. Growing up, summers here were wonderful! They were still good in the 80's when I was raising my children. Now sadly, with all this humidity all the time and so many, many, people, whether they be tourist, locals or newly transplanted locals, it's too hard to even go to the beach here and too expensive. The traffic is always terrible since the towns have grown but in summer it's much worst! 

Sorry, but I can't  wait for winter! ☃️

August will just mean more people trying to squeeze in the last of summer before they have to go home for good!

Just sent in my subscription wants for crochet magazines.  I'm getting back into the groove of things and it's much needed.  I feel more capable of moving up the ladder of trying more things, getting out of my comfort zone and moving on to more challenges.  Time will tell if I can do it, or it's a bust. LOL

We have a 53rd one end of Aug, have a niece going to college, and we're doing home improvements.  So similar.
