On 3/21/2015 MAmom said:I make my own RTM for each seasonal using the CC & the Oil ( usually from the 3 pc set. ) plus 613 styling creme. It's a decent copy and does what it's supposed to do, with the exception of being used as a face or body spray. This is for the hair only.
I much prefer the Chaz version, but constantly reordering RTM's gets pricey. If I get a Chaz version in a TSV, I make that puppy last! I carry the Chaz version in my pocketbook and use the homemade version at home- where I am alot.
I finally made my own RTM and was very happy with the results. I will definitely continue to make different formulas of my own homemade RTM. Definitely a great way to save a few dollars. I recently started incorporating RTM in addition to cc, and sc to style my hair and really like the results when adding the RTM. As a result of adding the RTM I used my WWC RTM, (small bottle) and WCM RTM, (small bottle) and decided before using my entire stash of RTM I would just make my own.

susan25, I have shoulder length, THICK, baby fine, very curly hair. I use a LOT of my home made RTM on my non cleanse days to get the definition back in my curls. Love it!

I am sure that you could use any oil but definitely agree that if you use the same scent it would be even nicer. The last RTM that I made was with SOB cleansing conditioner, WWC oil and 613 SC. It is a very nice scent. Since I just ordered the SOB oil the next time that I make this I can use the SOB oil instead of WWC oil but SOB never had a SC. I also plan on making SHP and have all 3 products in this scent.

The ingredients are different, so it depends on how you intend to use it.
The official Replenishing Treatment Mist has skincare ingredients (the peptides that make up Matrixyl 3000) that the DIY version does not*. The DIY version also has silicones from the styling cream that the purchased version does not. I definitely notice the difference because I found that the official RTM works well on my skin but does not do much for my hair and the DIY version is great for my hair, but I don't want that on my skin.
*Unless you make the DIY version with seasonals, as they also have those peptides.

I agree with you MAmom. I have very good results using the homemade RTM on my hair.

Many of us were requesting it on his Facebook page. Last year, the home and away was offered two times. I believe the last time it was offered they said it wouldn't be back until the Fall . It's a 12 oz and 2 oz. I overstocked the first time it was offered because I was afraid it wouldn't be around for another 3 years or so like the first time so now when it's offered I just replace what I use.On 3/14/2015 melting said: Hi I make a homemade version,in an old 6once RTM spray bottle I put half full of warm to hot water then I add 6 pumps from a16 oz cc,6 pumps of styling cream and one dropper full of the oil. Shake it well, top off the bottle with cool water. I use all these in tea tree,it's for the kids I do this on there hair everyday before school.it helps with tangles and styles there hair nicely. I do prefer the original, however I use a lot of this on 3 kids and it works well. Good luck. Ps Chaz if you read thus PLEASE a large super size of the RTM for refilling small bottles a 32 oz would be nice!!!
Even a 16 oz. size of RTM would be great. I do like the idea of trying to make it. I may try mixing a seasonal with a different scent to make a variation of what you would buy. For example, WCM, cc, WCM oil and SAM sc.

Susan, thanks for starting this new thread about RTM recipes since Wenners are always asking about the various recipes. In the Wen 101 thread (from message #5), below I've listed some additional older RTM recipe threads. -- bebe![]()
