Re: Weather and Christmas...

We've already cancelled Christmas get together this year.  I don't want to worry about anyone driving in what we've been told to expect. They don't want to drive in it either. I'm grateful that we had such a good Thanksgiving.

Our Christmas eve doesn't look good either, and we don't want to drive in what we have been told is coming.  Just not worth it.

When we used to all get together at my parents home for Christmas, we actually had two Christmases.  My Mom thought that those that had chlldren should be in their own homes for Christmas morning instead of dragging the kids out of bed for a 40 minute drive to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  We would have our 2nd Christmas sometime during the week between Christmas and New Year's and some years in was actually NY Eve.  When the kids were little, they didn't care if we didn't celebrate on the actual day.

It was pretty cool that we had two Christmases.  My Mom & Dad were so smart and so gracious to not expect everyone to be at their home and it took alot of pressure off my siblings that had little kids and the kids thought it was awesome that they had two Christmases.  It also extended the holiday so the 26th wasn't such a let down that the holiday was over.

There was also flexibility if the weather was bad as they lived in Connecticut.

Re: Weather and Christmas...

Well the weather prediction was right, well almost right.  They said the precipitation would start as snow or freezing rain then change to rain and that has happened however, it started much earlier than predicted.  I was hoping it would start until this afternoon so I could get some errands done this morning but it isn't even 7:00 am and we have freezing rain.  Hopefully it will warm up and change to rain before I have to go out.
