Re: Weather and Christmas...

My husband is in rehab so I have told my family we will delay Christmas Eve until he is home.  I feel so bad.  My grandchildren so look forward to opening their gifts.  It is the only Christmas Eve all 6 of them ever knew.  Now with the weather prediction it may have been cancelled anyway.  MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL.

Re: Weather and Christmas...

I always yearn for a white Christmas. I love the cold and snow, wintry weather. As I stated before, my husband's soul must be near water. He is a surfer and the ocean is his happy place. After reading these comments about possible postponing Christmas, it gives me pause to reflect and appreciate my Christmas forecast of 70 degree weather. I understand @Mom2Dogs having stuff that will not hold over though. I always have too much food anyway. I hope it ends up being not as bad as predicted and everyone can be with their loved ones on Christmas.

I watch Ryan Hall, Y'all on YouTube for weather, his latest video convinced me to meet with family for a simple Christmas gathering tomorrow. My State is going to have record cold & snow but it's too early to tell how much snow. I really like how Ryan  explains the how & why of weather with no hype so he's my go to. Stay safe & warm....sadly the high cost of heating will keep many from turning up the thermostat.

Re: Weather and Christmas...

My son is driving from CA to MD starting out on Wednesday.   I wish he would wait and I told him no worries on being here for actual Xmas day...just get home safe when weather improves.  But he said he has stuff to do here (artist) and he needs to get back for a few weeks.  Hopefully, he will drive the far south route to avoid the heavy snow🥶

Re: Weather and Christmas...

No white Christmas for us but get a look at that MINUS 16 DEGREES BELOW ZERO. That is not wind chill temp but regular temp.Smiley Surprised

It's an arctic blast and it going to affect a lot of people in the next following several days.

Ugh, HUGE storm coming our way.  Christmas with daughter and family is scheduled for Friday.  If the weather man is correct, it will not happen as married granddaughter and family has to travel a short distance to get here and the roads are supposed to be bad.

I am not willing to 'take a chance'...I think we need to reschedule, and I hope everyone is willing.  I have to prep on Thursday and a few things I am preparing  will not 'hold over' for a few days.

I did contact my step daugher to talk to her girls and find out what will work for them.....darn weather.

Days and dates are not important when it comes to dangerous weather conditions. Sure, everyone knows the day/dates, of holidays they want to celebrate. But! To me, safety should always come first.

Awww @judianne  that is to bad - a long anticipated trip, but it sounds like they will travel later in the week.

Re: Weather and Christmas...

After about 7 weeks of unusually cold, windy (but sunny) weather, Christmas Day is supposed to be 48° and sunny.  The cold front won't reach Albuquerque.  I hate sunny Christmases and would love some rain or snow, which we desperately need.  No moisture at my house for about 3 months.

Same forcast for my area.  I was planning to run errands and grocery shop on Thursday and Friday but now I am trying to get some things done Wednesday night after work.

Had time during lunch to do some grocery shopping at a store close to work.  I only have a few more things to pick up.  DD is going to get one of the today while she is out running errands and I will stop tomorrow on my way home from work to pick up a few more things.  I have to go out Thursday b/c my order from the butcher will be ready for pick up by 1:00.  It is not supposed to start raining until Thursday afternoon so maybe I will get home before it starts.
