Ugh, HUGE storm coming our way. Christmas with daughter and family is scheduled for Friday. If the weather man is correct, it will not happen as married granddaughter and family has to travel a short distance to get here and the roads are supposed to be bad.
I am not willing to 'take a chance'...I think we need to reschedule, and I hope everyone is willing. I have to prep on Thursday and a few things I am preparing will not 'hold over' for a few days.
I did contact my step daugher to talk to her girls and find out what will work for them.....darn weather.

I hope things work out for you!
My DD and her DH are coming Christmas eve and will leave Monday. We're all supposed to drive to my SIL for Christmas day. Here it will be very cold but thank goodness sunny. It's supposed to rain Thursday & Friday so I hope to get all shopping (food & a few last minute items) finished tomorrow.

@Mom2Dogs I'm with you on "not taking a chance"--even though most of our predicted big bad weather events turn out to be a big nothing! But I'm sorry that you'll probably have to reschedule, that's disappointing.
Stay safe, and Merry Christmas!

Just me and DH..no need to go anywhere..here in the woods.
We had family Christmas in Oct...toys, all the favorite Christmas food,toys..and a birthday cake for DS..did I mention toys??..As usual this granny bought too many toys! Everyone had a great time without weather worries.
Merry Christmas to all !

When I lived in Michigan every winter event, big or small, was tagged "weather permitting." We lived in the lower peninsula near Lake Michigan. So I'm not surprised to see the storm coming with that area in the bullseye.
I read the words blizzard conditions. Couldn't come at a worse time for the Christmas travelers.
Whether you should reschedule? Maybe depends on how far your family has to drive-you said a short distance?

Here in PA. Thur. and Fri. are supposed to have heavy rain and windy, but Sat. and Sun. are supposed to just be very cold.

You can't mess with weather and safety. We are supposed to pick up my mother in law on Saturday but that may not happen if there is too much snow.
You can always spend time with family at another time. I know its difficult combining schedules - we have a hard time every year.

Same forcast for my area. I was planning to run errands and grocery shop on Thursday and Friday but now I am trying to get some things done Wednesday night after work.

Though I would love a white Christmas we will get the rainy side of this storm in RI. 2-3" of rain and winds up to 50 mph. If I was in the snow portion I would just have my adult kids come early or late if possible. I would even have them stay overnight if needed. It would be sad to reschedule Christmas but you can't fight mother nature. I wish all the best to those that are in the worst part of this upcoming storm. Most importantly, stay safe and try to stay merry!!
