"It must be the WEATHER".    I was in a jewelry store waiting to pick up a ring that was being sized...and I walked over to a display case to look at some earrings.     The clerk actually SAID TO ME...."You can't afford those."

I got my ring...and left the place PERMANENTLY.    di

Yikes ....  Well, that wasn't very nice.

Reminds me of the scene in Pretty Woman when she went into a boutique and the salespeople were quite rude.

I worked in a store years ago and when I opened a register to help with a line I always said I'd take the next person. Sometimes before I even got that out of my mouth someone would jump from the back or after I said it someone would. I always told them to return to their spot.

we have a grocery store here with two sets of self sere right next to each other. Hard to always see when a register opens. I was second in line and noticed a register open and as I saw the people from the back of the just about to jump over there I got the guy i was behind to get a move on and get it.

There is some weird social thing where most people in line don't want to react to the open register. Trust me, if you're next in line it's your spot. Just go for it.

I won't shop at Hobby Lobby. I don't agree with their HR policy in regard to their female employees and healthcare coverage. I can't really say anymore. Look it up. I don't think it's changed since it was all over the media a few years ago. I can find a lot of other places to spend my money.💙

I have Never stepped foot in a Hobby Lobby and never will.   They are a sleezebag company.  Besides their lacking in the employee health care department,  they are thieves.  They had to pay 3 million dollars in fines for smuggling artifacts from Iraq. They falsely labeled the artifacts and  falsely claimed country of origin of the artifacts. Hobby Lobby also had to return all the artifacts back to Iraq.  Carp company.

Much ado about nothing. The polite thing to do would have been to let those in front of you know about the other register opening instead.

I've seen customers elsewhere not aware a new register opened and have myself pointed this out and also had it pointed out to me.

Instead you handed back your items (probably carp from China or worse stolen from Iraq) and that solved nothing. I don't believe she was going to hand pick customers either but would be letting the ones who were in front move over.

Should HL have had a better way to announce another register opening?
Perhaps.

You were just miffed because you were told to stay in your lane.

Next time be a good person and tap a person or two and tell them instead of assuming you could just be next at the other register.

Sometimes an act of helping out instead of leaving the employee with your 3 items which you really didn't need (admit it) is a kindness not often seen.

You would have appreciated it had you been waiting for some time.

It's done. Move on.

If people actually researched how HL treats employees in the Chinese factories it owns, they'd never shop there again.

Unfortunately, HL loves to throw the term "values" around and people still actually believe them.

Maybe the employee was upset with her health insurance coverage!  I will never shop in that store!

I recently relocated from Southern California to New Mexico and I am very happy here. The closet store is in Albuquerque and I have visual problems, so I do not drive. I do Hobby Lobby online ordering . I would love to shop at Hobby Lobby , to be able to walk the aisles and touch the merchandise . To me it is my Disneyland. I will at some point be able to shop at a Hobby Lobby in Albuquerque , for now I am saving much money . Life is not perfect appreciate what you have for now.
