Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Bopper, making applesauce sounds wonderful.  Tim.

Laura, lol. I'm impressed, too.

Mick, sorry you unexpectedly had to deal with cleaning carpet.

Lucy, I hope DS is doing ok.

Workout done and last kitty visit done. Her mom will be home tonight. Thank goodness kitty is doing ok - she has an ongoing health issue that I was nervous about, but kitty got through the week well. Nonetheless, I'm relieved her mom will be ho!e tonight. Will watch baseball and read this afternoon.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Thanks ladies. They did a chest X-ray yesterday, no pneumonia but bronchitis. They decided to go ahead with the infusion since he's having so much pain and issues. This will be where it gets tricky as it could cause pneumonia in him very easily, and on the immunosupressants, he can't fight it.

So I got everything done I could think of in case we have to go up there...bills, mowed, groceries, errands, my script filled, etc.

Speaking of push-ups, one of my instructors today did them like she was doing them on a wall. She was so strong and fluid, never even trembled a bit and she was in half push-up position forever! Amazed me so much, I had to get my phone and take a couple of pictures! Lol! Crazy strong!

I ran Lucy 2 miles, did back-to-back classes...yoga then kickboxing, then finished legs and TRX. I was impressed with my pistol squats...I know what you mean Laura and it's a nice feeling! Better improvement in two weeks than I expected.

Oh!! Attack class was fantastic yesterday! We did an entire track to the music from Titanic, when they were down in the Irish quarters...then it got faster and faster and you keep up with the tempo...killer work-out but so much fun. I needed it.

So much nicer mowing in this weather than 98*. I talked to my gf in Montana yesterday and she got snowed on while hiking...they were heading down to Glacier Park today. Well,I'm anxious about his infusion(more what is going to happen after) so I'm probably rambling more than usual. Have a great weekend everyone...not sure what mine holds or if I'll be on.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy - I hope your DS gets better fast.  How stressful for you and your family....and he doesn't live that close to you, so another stressor.  It sounds like you're kicking butt with your workouts atleast!

I did Pilates....then almost walked on dog barf....what is up??? Already stepped on dog poo with my barefoot....that was fun.  I shouldn't be complaining....my family is healthy.....

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Well MickD, I was cleaning cat puke up last night...you're not alone!  I gave her her antibiotic and didn't give her enough food with it, so it was my fault.  But it's a frequent occurrence in this house! Smiley Wink

We did a nice, peaceful trail run this morning...then we got lost and ended up doing a dicey hike!  I mean it was straight uphill, I was using my nails to dig into the earth and hanging onto trees.  Then we had to climb a big rock that didn't have any place to put your shoes or hands for leverage.  I was so out of breath going up that one hill that I stopped and squatted down for a minute until I got my breath back.  I need some good hiking shoes...not sure I want boots because we run on the trails too so I don't want heavy.

Then I got dh to do yoga and pilates reformer with me!  We did about 35 minutes and he was spent, said he is going to feel it in every muscle of his body tomorrow.  He was shaking and quaking like crazy on a couple of strength poses.  But...he thinks he'd like it!  Said he can see where it really works your entire body, stretches your muscles, and clears your mind.

Waiting for him, we're supposed to be taking Lucy for a bike ride and he had to do some work "quick"...uh-huh.  Here I sit. Smiley Tongue

Hope everyone is having a great day.  We're trying hard to keep our mind off of things....ds said he thinks he's the same, not any better but doesn't feel worse.  See what tonight and tomorrow brings.  Imagine it will hit around the 24-hour mark.  The hospital wasn't too keen on giving it to him so that makes me even more nervous.

Lucy, prayers for your DS. So stressful for all of you waiting to see how things go. Meanwhile, it sounds like you and DH I hardly stop moving!  For sure it takes your mind off things. It's cool that yoga was a challenge for DH...so different from his usual activity.

Meanwhile while, I did my work, out. I'm lucky to get in the time in a week that you guys in in a day, lol! We're all different and do what we can do and it all counts.

Hi, Bopper and Laura and Mick. Have a good weekend.

My friend is home, and kitty and collie are glad things are back to normal. And so am I, lol. I worry while she's gone because I know it's hard for kitty to be alone so long.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy - I am glad that your DH loves the reformer.  I've had mine for about 13 years....my DH rigged it so I can use the rebounder too...it works!

Did not feel like doing the Total Gym today .....so did Pilates and the rebounder while watching college football...very cleansing.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Hi all, I forgot to post yesterday, the weekends get away from me.    I walked a trail with my sister yesterday and then just did stuff around here, it was nice out.   Today was helping DH stack wood in the garage for what I hear is going to be a bad bad winter.   But you know what?   We'll get through it, we alwasy do, just have to roll with the punches.

Iluvlucy sending well wishes and prayers to DS and all of you.  It has to be so hard to try and go through your day trying not to worry.  Glad DH got in a good workout!

Nomless glad kitty and collie are back together, its so nice of you to take care of kitty!

MickD we watched our Lions ( lose) at the last minute, hubby was yelling at the TV, I had the Tigers on, so we pretty much are a sports family here.

Laura how was your weekend?

Not much else here, the Packers play tonight but now we have the Emmy's on.

Have a nice rest of your evening!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Monday again...that was fast in a way and in another way it took forever.  Think this waiting for us to see how things play out with ds makes time go slower.  He starts school today...sure hope he can take a breath in without a coughing jag.

nomles...I need to find someone to come let Lucy potty like days we went to John's Hopkins for my appt, we had to bring her.  Think we'll kennel Kit when we go up for DS's Colonoscopy and Endoscopy next week...we may make a detour and spend a couple of nights at this country resort.  Are you liking your chair at all?

bopper...yes, thank-you, it is hard to keep our minds off of it but we're trying.  We did have a great work-out, that hike alone was tough, harder than the run...good glute and ham work-out for sure.  We stayed up and watched the game...wow, I'm sure most people didn't see that coming...we didn't watch the Emmy's.

MickD...he didn't do the reformer much, he's too tall.  But he could do things like put your feet on the rebounder bar and hold onto the sled with both hands in push-up position and slide it up and down going from pike position to extended plank position. I see Kris Jenner got a new pilates machine...the big, expensive kind.  Not that I'm a fan,  but I seem to be seeing it all over the place now.  More cat puke here. Smiley Sad

Today is a gym day for me...actually doing 3 classes in a row...but 1 is yoga and 1 is Barre...kickboxing in between.

Waving to everyone...hope you all had a nice weekend.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Monday again, yes it is!   Did treadmill intervals with incline this morning and Total gym.  Hoping to walk Logan after lunch but right now it looks like rain.

Iluvlucy praying DS does alright with his first day and it doesn't wear him out too bad.  Hard for sure not to worry all the time!  I'd let Lucy potty if I was there, I hope you find somebody.

Making more applesauce today, I love the smell when it's cooking!

Ya'all have a great day ya hear!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy  Glad to hear you're back in routine and everyone is having a good day.  Don't hurt yourself at the gym.  That's a lot of classes.

I did a long hike on Saturday and ran into just one baby deer.  I went earlier than I usually like to go.  Big mistake.  Too many people.  I wish the weather would turn here so I could have my park more to myself.  Yes, I'm being selfish.  It was pretty deserted on the trail since on one really likes to walk the woods but, in the main areas before you get there, people and kids and dogs everywhere!!

The leaves were everywhere too in the woods.  Not sure why.  We are still in the 90s every day.  They must be drying up from the lack of rain although we finally got a nice bit of it yesterday after the weather people said they saw no rain for the next 10 days.  Um, my house was wet for several hours yesterday as was I when I went food shopping.  Do these people really go to school or do they not know the wet stuff is called rain?

I did my own thing this morning with some ab work and a bit of cardio.  I think I'm going to try and do more of my own thing and not be so beholden to classes since they keep messing with them.  I'm also kind of disappointed I'm just not seeing much in the way of toning.  I'm at my lowest weight ever (back to high school) but I can't get any toning that I am happy with.  Time to research and see what really works for that.  Tomorrow I may be upping my weights dramatically and skipping reps if I have to.
