Patty, I hope you're having a calmer day and that both DS and Lucy are doing better. Your DIL sure goes fast! I bet your legs are shorter, that's the only reason she's faster. LOL. Patty, while everyone is gone today, you and Lucy should try to take a nap. Get some rest.
Pit Pull, way to go with T25.
Hi, Mick, way to go on the treadmill!
Tonight I'll do TG.
....SPOILER ALERT..........SPOILER ALERT..........SPOILER ALERT.....
I enjoyed ANW last night. I was glad The Weatherman did so well. I wasn't surprised no one beat the course, but I was suprised only 2 made it to Level 3. I like the other guy who got to level 3, too. Next week's special US vs Japan and Europe will be fun.
Oh...BL starts Thursday. I hope they can make it fun like it used to be. Jillian is gone, Bob and Dolvett remain, and two additional trainers are added. I know there are all kinds of things wrong with the show (like...they lose weight way too fast) but I still enjoy it. It helps motivate me.
It's raining this afternoon, then tomorrow it will be cool in the low 60's. That will feel so nice.

nomless, Lucy went to groomer's today...took them forever! I got groceries, went to gym, and did some shopping just to get out of here. I'm feeling out of sorts, want to go home, but not comfortable with that yet.
Yes MickD, it is easier to jog with her than to walk! My friends all say that about my power-walking but they should go with her! I can do 5.0 walking on the treadmill, but she is insane, it's hard for her to go slower. Same with running, she just gets on the treadmill and sets it at 8.0...no warm-up, nothing...and runs the entire time at that. I really wish she had time to actually train....she runs about 3 times a month and did the half marathon with an 8-something pace and that was after falling in a pot-hole and cutting her legs up.
I really enjoyed step class today...then did some weights and sprints on elliptical and bike.

I think I will have to return the T25 dvds, I couldn't do half the dvd today.
My knee just wont let me.
I am thinking of either getting PiYo, or just go back to my Denise Austin dvds.
At least I know I can do those.
I feel kinda like a loser, but I have the will, just not the knee to do any hopping around.

Aw, Pit Bull, that's too bad. Can you modify and substitute others moves for the high impact ones? I have to avoid impact, so with nearly all my DVDs, I have to modify. I substitute high knees with jumping jack arms (for example) or something else for the impact bits in workouts.

I can't do jumping jacks.
I just feel like the dvd is to much for me.
I think I will go back to my Denise Austin dvds.
I'm going to sound like a wuss but it is just to fast and to hi impact for me.
09-10-2014 11:59 AM
Fair enough, Pit Bull. It sounds like it's not for you.
I know how frustrating it is to not be able to do certain moves. I have to avoid all impact, so, I have to to modify a lot. It's great that there are lots of options available, something for everyone.
BTW, you don't sound like a wuss, you sound very tuned in to what your body can handle and what it can't. That' s not a wuss, that's smart!

Hi everyone...Wednesday already. Third 10-11 hour shift day in a row for my son and yesterday was crazy. Even had a patient scream the "F" word at them. Not what you need when you're on high-dose steroids. He works until 9:30 tonight and he was so tired this morning, it kind of scared me. Think we'll call tomorrow about getting some labs done early.
I had a good weight work-out today other than my hips, where the top of my hamstring connects, etc., is very painful and all messed up. But I did a lot of compound moves like jumping-jacks w/shoulder presses, planks with side shoulder raises, Russian twists with weight, burpee push-ups, biceps w/squats, bench-press followed by bench-hops, etc. Then ran.
Been a cleaning fool today too...flooded the kitchen doing bedsheets. I can't win! Floor is sparkling though!
PitBull, just do what you can...do some strength exercises to build up the muscle around the knee...if you can. That's where 90% of knee pain comes from and once you build those muscles up(if that's the problem), you can do a lot of things you couldn't. But like nomless said, you modify your work-out to suit your needs.
nomless, I did google it...thank you. I had googled it before I asked but I wasn't specific enough so got the old one...put in 2014.
