Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey all, it's another steller day here, almost 70 and sunny.  Hubby and I took my dad on a color ride today and to see some waterfalls.   We ate at a quaint rugged lodge called the Buckhorn Inn and our table over looked a small lake and there were bird feeders right outside the window by our table, it was so pretty with the golden and red leaves....Great day!

Dr.Kelli glad you are home and I"m sure your animals missed you very much.  It's stressful just leaving them.

MickD hope that cool down reaches you soon.  We are cooling down soon too, we are way way above normal for now.  I saw the end of next week a few s......   flurries ( haha couldn't say the 's' word yet)  could reach us!

foxxie how is the day going, nomless hope your day is going well for you.  Waving to Judy and Lucy and everyone joining in today.

Good morning everyone.  Seems that everyone is fine.

I'll do a quick workout this morning at home.  I have an 11:30 dental appointment.  I haven't been in over a year so no actual cleaning or anything will be done today, just ex-rays and a consult.  I kept putting off a cleaning because my dental plan that I had was an extension from my job  group plan and it ran out.  They changed me to a different level that didn't include this dental office.  I only had a few choices of dentists on this new plan.  HMO, now I have PPO with benefits that I had before.  I chose a site but I just couldn't bring myself to go to that place.  I'm back on my gold plan now and can choose who I want.  I just hope my bridge is ok....  money, money, money.

Have a great day everyone.

Did a new class today called Soul Tower Barre or something like that.  I really liked it.  It's kind of the old 80s aerobics mixed with just good old plain exercises you do for 20 seconds each.  I could do most no problem with only a couple modifications for a few.

And then Power routine I hate.  I can't believe I have to stick with this for another 2 weeks before it goes it away.  Yuck!

Hope everyone has a good Thursday!

ETA:  Owwwwwwww!!!  My abs are smoking and I am not sure why.  That barre class did more than I thought it did!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Foxxie, I don't have dental insurance either. Dental policies are expensive and don't provide much in benefits. I don't understand why. Glad you found something that works for you.

Last night on Q, I heard a tease for the TSV about "great new sheets that have been 2 years in the making!" This morning I see they're MM fleece sheets. No mention was made of how these differ from the fleece sheets we've seen from MM before. Anyone know?

@nomless  I read in another thread that they are supposedly deeper.  Maybe that's it?

A little cooler today and partly sunny so went on the trail.  No one around until I run past the golf driving range...heaven!

Ran 27 min and walked back for 20 min.

Have a great Thursday ladies......and Go Cubbies!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey hey, it's sunny here again but cooler and windy but that's okay.  I am so thankful for this lovely Fall weather.

On the sheets she did say they are different from last years as they are bigger in size and the pockets were larger I believe she said.   I ordered the gray, I still have the velvet loft coming so I"ll be set in sheets.  I just couldn't pass them up, I can mix and match fabrics and colors if I want.

Laura sounds like a good class finally and no crowding.  I like the old school exercise from the 80's, except the higher impact.  I can't do that anymore.

MickD I totally understand the quiet run, isn't it the best when it's just you!   We're watching the Playoffs too.   I'm cheering for Cubbies too since my team isn't in it.

Nomless and foxxie I don't have dental insurance either.  I canceled my appt. a couple weeks ago for a cleaning, it's been 8 months but with all these hospital bills coming in I am waiting until April to go in.  I"ll call and reschedule later on.   Even with the insurance and the hospital bills, we are left with a good chunk and I didn't want to add to the bills with a dental cleaning right now

Lucy how are you doing, the house and yourself with the mamogram and Lucy?

Made a stew for dinner yesterday so left overs for us tonight which works for me!

Be well everyone!

@bopper  I actually impressed myself with 20 seconds of jacks but got worried when we did the mountain climbers.  They used to be easier.  Smiley Sad  Toughed it out though!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning all.  Well, I went to the dentist yesterday and her the most thorough exam ever.  The hygienist put that thingy that they use to keep your mouth for X-rays so many times that my mouth hurt.  Then she prodded my gums calling out numbers zero to ten or nine to another tech to write down.  The numbers represented the severity of plague.  Turns out I need another scaling like I had in 2015.  Before you can get a cleaning, you have to have the scaling, if needed.

I was all set to get the scaling until I talked to the clerk in charge of insurance.  Backstory...in February, the extension of my work group insurance after retirement ended (cobra) and I was automatically switched to an individual plan.  Well this dentist didn't take the plan that I was switched to and dropped me.  In the meantime, I switched myself to a Gold level (PPO) and I could go to any dentist.  BUT, when I was changed to the different level, I unbeknownst to me, had a new start date and a one year waiting period for certain procedures, scaling being one of them.  To make this story shorter I'll just say that I can't get the scaling done until February, 2018 or get it now and pay the full cost.

A scaling is done in two parts.  The cost with my insurance will be $242 for each part.  Without waiting my full waiting period, the cost is $484 each part.  I wasn't happy, I'll tell you.  I've been with Delta Dental forever.  Now I have a waiting period?  So @nomless and @bopper I know what you mean about not getting insurance.  Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other.  I opted to wait until February, 2018 to get the scaling.  I refuse to let the insurance company off the hook by paying the full price for the procedure and having paid them monthly for so long.

Walking and Senior Cardio this morning.  Enjoy this beautiful day everybody!
