Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Happy Monday, snowing again...I did a kick butt 70 minute TG workout this morning, and dog walked the snowy trail this afternoon.  Got some decorations out, cleaned behind all the furniture and swiffered and swept while Hallmark movies were playing.

Laura I understand the family drama ******, we have the same thing here, and I"m at the age where if I don't want to participate I don't.  I have a sister who over reacts to everything, and has to "drive the bus" and I have gotten off a long time ago.

I don't use imitation vanilla either and it is expensive to buy pure vanilla.  Some of the pure is really expensive, I am thinking of the Madegascar vanilla.

Nothing much else going on here, just going to get dinner going.

Enjoy your night, waving to everyone!

Oh for about 6 days in December I will be " out of the office"  Hahaha...heading to see my son, DIL, and grandson so I most likely won't be checking in, so make me proud ya'all!!!  It's not for about 3 weeks though, I leave on the 6th but I expect strong reports while the wardon is gone!!

Welcome back @MickD!

I guess I was the lone slug who did nothing today.

@bopper Yes ma'am!  We shall obey ma'am!  After a 70 minute workout, I am not about to test the butt kicking.  Smiley Wink

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

The QVC forums are buggy today so I hope this posts.

Went to Pound and Power this morning and lucked out!  Other people set up around me so the funky couple was forced up front and away from me.

I felt bad for the people around them.  One girl, had to walk away a couple of times and finally gave up towards the end of class and left early.  So unfair when you get yourself up to make a 5:30am class.

Anyway, she changed out the Pound music and actually came up with a good mix of tunes I haven't heard a million times.  She asked us if we wanted the Halloween tunes again and there was dead silence.  We'll probably get the Christmas tunes around Valentine's Day.

For Power, I tried to keep most of my increased weight factor to stay with a new normal and I did it on most tracks.  Proud of that.

We have a new Nudie.  One of the regulars decided to wear this string halter top that showed off all kinds of stuff you do not want to look at down to her waist.  Since it is freezing rain yesterday, today and tomorrow, I'm not sure what the goal or desire was here.

Nudie was only half nude so I really can't pick on her today.  Adonis got yelled at for being too aggressive on the routines especially legs.  Don't make up your own choreography.  This teach ain't having it!

Oh and she also wanted to debate the disco group Chic's name.  The ab track is a mash up between "Good Times" and "24K" by Bruno Mars.  Is Chic pronounced chick?  I just can't today.  I couldn't even look at her.  LOL

Glad to have my big day done.  I bought a second tv at my mom's advice so I can really have a nice workout set up at home now in the living room.  Youtube classes here I come.

If @DrKelliwants to do a Zumba class channel, I am your first subscriber.  Smiley Wink  Just a thought....  I am also all for @bopper's 70 minute workouts.  I may watch you do it for a few minutes before joining in but I think it's an idea with merit.  Think about it you two!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone,

bopper- I am reporting that I have been walking and pulled out the CDs. I am hoping to stay on it -I do not want you to have to worry while you are away. And I do not want to give you a failed report when you return!

laura14- I hope thanksgiving goes well. There is always family something. I would like to hire you for furniture building, I would like to go with you to see Dr.kelli but I do not want to workout with you and pigpen.

drkelli- I m glad your class went that well.

mmsfoxxie- I envy your commitment to so much. I’m hoping to at least get a D grade with my resumes activity! Is  daily ibuprofen not bothering your stomach?

judyl- I’m glad you are ok. It must be weird and sad to see all of that smoke. Hopefully there are no more deaths and it gets contained. I was a volunteer firefighter years ago- fires have so much power.

I agree about vanilla. I try to get mine at tjmaxx/Marshall’s/home sense.

I had a Fitbit charge. I had trouble with it and I broke it so haven’t bothered to get another. As we know- I have nothing to monitor!  I do know that 12 hour shifts can go 15,000 steps on a bad day.

Its rain today - to 50 degrees but to the 30’s the rest of the week with snow on Friday. Yeah it’s that time of year.

Hi MickD!

just smile,

tony

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Good morning, peeps.  I only slep about five hours but it was a good, deep sleep.  Didn’t wake up for the washroom as I usually do.

@tony14smoke, yes I’m committed but it’s easier for a retiree to be committed, lol.  Plenty of time on my hands so I choose to make exercise my job to keep my body at least better than it was the first year that I retired.  I complain about aches and pain but it is SO much better now.  Regarding daily ibuprofen, I’ve wondered about future stomach issues but so far, so good.  It’s the 200 mg strength.  I forget the name of it but I used to have a prescription for an arthritis drug that had so many side effects listened that I stopped taking it.....naproxen, another one.

My commitment to WW is waning, though.  In fact, I went online to cancel Sunday even though my free period for online is til the middle of January.  But if I had went in for my meeting Sunday, I think I would have been a half pound over goal limit and I was going to pay the meeting price of $14 for that.  A few weeks ago, I went in for my weight in and was a quarter pound over and had to pay $14!  I wasn’t happy.  November and December are tough months for undisciplined eaters like me.  When I went online to cancel, a message came up asking if I’d consider staying with online WW for free til March, next billing period.  So, I’m still a WW but don’t have to go weigh in.  If my understanding is off, I’m ok with dropping out.

Body & Sculpt, Flexibility and Zumba.  Enjoy your day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hi everyone--I was off line yesterday as we had a holiday.  It was so nice to have that break.  I actually went to see Bohemian Rhapsody again.  It was just as good as the first time I saw it. Rami Malek is so good.  I think the guy who plays the drummer is just adorable and worth seeing it again for!

I got all my Christmas shopping done on Saturday.  I did not buy a lot--books for my stupid nephew's step kids and a couple games, some boots for my niece, a few things for my mom and sister and that's about it.  I'll put them in gift bags next weekend and ship so I don't have to worry about it.  I still need to get some fun things for my mom's stocking, but I can do that on a regular grocery trip since I usually buy her travel sized things for our trips.

Annnddd I didn't work out yesterday.  Or the weekend.  I was seriously just lazy and I need to get going on my December play list because it is stuff I haven't done in awhile.  I just texted my old Zumba instructor for the choreo to one of the songs (All I want for Christmas is you).  I taught the class right before Christmas break last year and had gotten to practice with her because it is always in her play list, but I am missing some of the steps.  I hope she can fill in the blanks.

I won't be getting my usual workout today--we have a 'team' lunch and tomorrow, thank goodness yoga is early, because we have a "lunch and learn".  Isn't it enough that I am in the office all day with everyone?

Hope you all have a great day!  I'm getting another cup of coffee.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

I just read that all the cast of Bohemian Rhapsody played their own instruments for the movie--that's really impressive.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hey ya'all, did a good TG workout today, and walked the trail.  Had my hair done too.  Mighty cold here.  Was 19 when I was out this morning, only 24 at the present time.  Too cold for this time of year even for us!

DrKelli Bohemian Rhapsody must really be good to see it 2 times.  Glad you enjoyed it.

I have some Christmas shopping done through Amazon, but not all.  Some people are so hard to buy for, one is my dad, he complains about everything he gets or picks at it until it breaks.   Last year I got him a Grocery gift card, that seemed ok but doesn't seem like much of a gift to me.

My little grandkids are fun to buy for, the older one is 13 now and picks out her own stuff so I think she'll get a Target gc, my own sons are hard to buy for too as well as my DIL's, one has everything she needs or buys it herself and the other is super low maintenance, so I don't know what to get her...

Anyways, hubby just pulled in so I need to get dinner going.

Waving to everyone, keep up the great work!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hi everyone,

I did NOT get a work out in yesterday-just a walk around the park with my dogs.  Today is yoga (YAY) and I need to practice some Zumba tonight.  I'm trying to come up with a good warm up song for next month.  After seeing the success of Let's Groove tonight, I want to go that route.  I thought about using Run, Run Rudolph, but I don't know if 4 holiday songs out of 10 are going to make people crazy.

Tonight is something I loathe.  I have to go to my annual HOA meeting. Since I am on the board, I don't have a choice.  If I am up for re election, I am seriously considering stepping down.  The only problem is that no one wants to be on the board.  The people that show up tonight are going to be the ones who hate the HOA, so it will be all about the complaints.  Mainly the hail/roof situation which was completely out of our control.  These people are so stupid--they got all belligerent and basically voted against a special assessment, which the HOA was going to pay $1000 of (3800 without the assistance, 2800 with), so now--everyone will have to carry their own insurance which will raise their mortgage payment several hundred dollars a month, as opposed to the $65 which is part of the $104 HOA monthly fees.

Well, I'm hoping yoga will provide enough WOOOSAAAA to get me through this stupid meeting.

have a great day, all!
