Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Happy Monday morning,  its raining again....so much rain,  so much cold.....yee gads!!

Foxxie do you have an automatic garage door?   If so at the top of your garage ceiling where the garage door is controled there should be a cord hanging down from the gizmo that makes the door go up and down and if you pull that cord you can manually open the door.   That's how ours is anyways.  So if our power goes out and we had to get out, we would pull the cord and manually lift our door.  The cord is right next to the light also controlling the light that comes on when the door opens or closes at the top of your mechanism.

I wanted to walk outside but like I said raining again.  I haven't had trouble logging in, I just forgot yesterday.  Watched baseball and did things around here as well as a fast walk.

foxxie glad you enjoyed your meals, they do sound really good!

Dr.Kelli did the snow melt?  My son said theirs is gone for the most part now...how crazy

Lucy enjoy your week

nomless I hope your week begins well also

MickD get out and enjoy the great outdoors!

Have a wonderful day everyone!  Will be doing Reformer and bobyblade this morning.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  Looks like it's going to be a decent day today.  The temp. is 51 right now, going to about 70.

@bopper, thanks for the tip but hubby already tried that.  I just found out about that red cord when problem shooting online.  It must be for power failures only.  Hubby thinks it's the chains to the door because he recalls hearing a noise earlier but at the time couldn't connect it to anything.  I just thought this was ironic in that had this happened before Wednesday of last week, his car at least, would be in the driveway and he wouldn't have had to cancel his meeting today.  Timing is everything, lol.  Hopefully we can get it fixed today.  We have a call in to the company that installed the door.

Aww, Monday is one of my favorite days at the health center and I can't go.  Boo  who.  I'll probably do an exercise tape.

Everybody Have a wonderful day.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good Monday Morning!

Mssfoxxie, our garage door did the same exact thing last week!!  My van was stuck in there too and I was going to the gym.  So I took off for a few miles with my gf and dh finally got it out but then couldn't get it up or down, even with the cord, so it was stuck in the half-open position...lol!  The motor and the cables had to be replaced, works like a charm now..when we're moving. Smiley Tongue   They were there 2 days working on it because they had to get the parts but at least got it closed the 1st day.

And bopper it's pouring here too..in the 50's though so I'm enjoying it much more than the higher heat and humidity we had last week.  It really cooled down where we live too(we're in PA), it was cooler when we were leaving town Saturday than it was when I ran Lucy early that morning.  We went house-hunting yesterday afternoon and it was torrential downpours, people were pulling over while driving because you couldn't see.  The kids and I went for a 3-mile power-walk Saturday night after dinner and we were cold...but felt good to me.

It's a zoo here...seriously. Reese flew off the couch this morning and landed on Lucy.  I thought he broke her spine, she was screaming and squawking and crawling on her belly.  Ugh, I almost threw-up and started crying...can't even think about it, it scared me so bad. Kit has diarrhea...moves are very stressful on everyone but especially animals. Then to have to deal with these two(kid's dogs) here...nutso. Smiley Tongue

Yesterday I walked and ran the back-roads here(dicey with how fast they drive and very narrow, windy, hilly roads with only ditches) and did their Total Gym, weights, and yoga. I might just do a quick run outside this morning and some squats..oh, and my 100 burpees...ugh. Smiley Tongue

Hi Mick D, Dr.Kelli, and nomless...and anyone else!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Hi everyone--good morning!

@bopper, we got more of a rain, sloppy snow mix where I live, so we didn't have any accumulation.  The pond at the dog park is full now and there was enough water to make it not stink.  It's more of a run off pond than a naturally fed pond, so it tends to smell like a swamp because the water is stagnant.

My jack russell, Lexi, got bit at the park this weekend and is on antibiotics for 7 days.  Unfortunately, these things happen and she got into the middle of a ruckus that wasn't any of her business.  Kevin actually started it, so he was naughty too.

I need to get my eating under control.  I went off the rails this weekend with the sweets and am feeling it today.  I usually am really good, but this weekend, the call of the donuts was too great.

My usual workout week, with the exception of Wednesday.  I am at one of our plants, so will not get my usual workout in.

Wow--those garage doors are a pain.  My mom's just went out too.

Our weather is supposed to be soggy all week and weekend.  Boo--I wanted some nice weather on the 3 day weekend!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Well it was a chain that was broken on the garage door that was the problem.  And of course, the repairman said you might as well replace both sides since the second is half price.  Actually it made since.  @Iluvlucy, I don't know if that's the same as cables or not but it sounds like yours was more involved.

Well, that problem is solved but too late for my classes.  I just took my Fitbit off to charge and I'm giving my arm a break.  Let it air out for longer than a few minutes that I normally do.

@DrKelli, I hear you about the out of control eating.  One weekend won't hurt you, though.  Was this a doggy park you were in?  I've heard that a lot of dogs act up there.  I see it on Judge Judy.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Yes--a dog park.  I've been going there for a dozen years and dog fights are pretty rare, although there have been some pretty bad ones.  My dogs usually are away from it.  Kevin was running with a big dog who kept running him over and Kevin finally had enough of it and started snapping.  Lexi, being the protective sister, jumped in to help and then another little dog, NOT invited into the fray, jumped in and got Lexi on the eye lid.

It is a nice place for the dogs and their people to socialize, but I definitely keep a close eye on them for things like that.

Happy Monday......not!  My son is coming home early from school as his OCD is off the rails....he is just  miserable.

Did 2.75mi/33.30 min on the treadmill.  My legs wanted to go, go, go, but I didn't!

DrKelli, I hope your pup is ok. Lucy, I hope Lucy is ok, too. Sorry you both had scares.

Glad your garage door is fixed, Foxxie. Bummer you missed class.

Hi, Bopper, how's your back and hip? I hope you feel better.

Hi, Mick, have a good week.

I had a nice weekend. Got together with a friend yesterday. Today I'm just being lazy, and as usual have no news. Oh, well.

I  noticed Jay king is on HSN again today. I love some of his jewelry, but it's pricey so....as much as I'd like to, I'm not watching.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning all.  Very dreary morning weather wise.  Very cloud and rain is expected.  Very dreary for the world, hearing about the Manchester bombing.  My heart and prayers go out to that we're personally affected.  I have a lack of understanding as to how anyone can be so cruel.

@MickD, I hope your son gets better soon.  I don't know much about OCD so I can only imagine.

@nomless, you have plenty to say by just coming in to say hello and wishing everyone well.  What with all of the bad news happening, light hearted chatter is so welcome.  I very seldom get on threads that are very serious....too much for me usually.

Oh, I really miss laurie14.  Reading her here and her healthy foods thread were very uplifting.  I fear that something unexpected happened.  I hope I'm wrong.

Body and Sculpt, Flexibility and probably a little Zumba.  Yeaaa!
