@SahmIam wrote:VaBelle, I;ve lost 30 pounds since Labor Day so obviously it does, just as it worked for the thousands and thousands of WW members who used it then.
Using the old program is fine.
BTW, the new program ranges from 26 to 69 points per day; the old program topped out at 34 points.
HUGE difference in the calories a person is allowed to consume daily now. Huge. And many at meetings wonder why they're not losing weight....
As long as it works for the person, that's all that matters.
When I got whiney (and yes I did get whiney) about hating the newer programs, one of the employees at my meeting location caught up to me after a meeting and told me if I liked one of the older programs, to just do it. She told me not to tell other employees, the leader or WW that she told me that but she said if you like it and it works, why change. I have all my stuff from 123 Success and need to just get back on that.

I remember 123 Success. That's the program they used first time I joined and it worked for me.

I am a WW member. There is a lot of hype for sure, and yes, no real info yet.
What has changed is a more holistic approach to weight loss. Rather than
just focusing on the food or the scale, it's more about the person, his/her
life--passions, interests, activities. It is also focusing on gratitude and more
awareness in our lives. I think we all know there must be a reason people turn
to food and over eat. There is no one answer.
Why I like Weight Watchers--it isn't a diet, it's a way of life. I have slowly lost
50 pounds, and gradually I have become very different in my relationship with
food. It is not easy, but it is so much better than what I have always done:
go on a restrictive or fad diet, lose 20 and soon after, gain 30.
I have also begun to enjoy the other WW members and take pleasure
in hearing their stories, opinions, difficulties and successes. i wish I had
been able to do this when I was younger. That is my greatest regret. I am
trying to take the attitude, of course, better late than never.

Great post, Susan. Thank you!

I agree about meetings. I miss my Tuesday morning crew. They are 100% the reason I showed up some weeks.

Well, I finally got on the scale this morning. First time since sometime in July. When I don't get on the scale daily, I'm giving myself permission to eat all I want. Well, I ate enough to gain 11 lbs, so it seems.
This has always been my problem...I lose enough weight to be at goal. I love how I look at that time but I can't explain why I stop eating healthy and correctly. I am 141.4 this morning. My weight when I rejoined WW the last time was 163 on my 5 ft frame. My knees are talking to be slightly just with the 11 lb gain. What is my problem, People. I look good at 130. All of the pluses are on the "stay at goal" list.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life....again, lol. I don't think I'll ever keep trying but I am very frustrated with myself.

@Mmsfoxxie I can get to goal on WW, too, I just can't maintain it. The good thing is that I've never gained it all back. The first time I gaine 65 of the 85 back and the second and third time I've only gained 25-30.
The most successful people go to work for WW so that they are contractually obligated to stay at goal ;oO

I believe you're correct, @VaBelle35. The leaders have a contractual/financial incentives as well as a health reason to maintain their weight. You'd think that my joints would be the most important aspect for me since I'm not a leader, lol.
Wouldn't it be nice with we could do without food just as drug addicts and alcoholics can do without their bad habits and still live, lol.

My left knee starts talking to me around 15 lbs over goal. I don't even need to get on the scale to know when I've hit my knee limit.

I watched gma this morning and they're saying ww is changing altogether as a whole. I'm lifetime member and I could never understand no pts with the fruits and vegetables. Ridiculous. I don't know what they're going to do but if its sugar for one that's good. And you're right Oprah is probably on it. And if she's doing well on it then so will we. I liked it better when the owner had it ( her name just slipped my mind). She did us a good service. I always lost and maintained until she sold it then I would get mixed up on understanding the program, for some reason I couldn't understand it at times, maybe I'm slow. I just didn't get it. I just couldn't understand how anyone could eat 3 lbs of grapes and lose weight either, it didn't have to be bananas. Even carrots have sugar in them so you ear too many and you'll put on some lbs.
I'm glad for the change, I hope it makes more sense for a once in years.
Im looking forward to it.
Maybe I'll jump on it and finally lose what I put on and feel good again. Goodness knows I need it severely.
I'll let ya know.
