I do not know how to answer under the person who wrote. If you can tell me I would appreciate it.

I did throw away the cream I found for it was old. Now it feels like fleas for one of my cats likes to sleep or in the room with me.

For the person asked about the noise I hear I no longer take my anxiety or melotonin pill.I have to live with the noise which I still believe in the attic and no one else. I hear it over at my son's--a noise like it--his ac machine.

@halfpint1 To answer under someone do the following:

Click the reply button right under the post you want to answer.

When you get to box where you write you will see the word quote.

Click on the word Quote and it will fill in the post that you want to answer.

Click a couple of lines under the quoted stuff and start typing your answer there.

As for the noise I hope knowing that it's a mechanical noise makes you feel better and that you have nothing to worry about. If it is that I have a big Lasko floor fan that I use in the summer. It would really block out other noises if that's what you need. Much louder white noise than a regular fan but it doesn't keep me awake.

Re: Suggestions for itching from unknown source

Straight calamine lotion applied with a cotton round or square or cosmetic sponge always works for me.

Also, a quarter or a half of a Benadryl tablet.

I'd also think about whether or not I'm using a strong laundry detergent on pillow cases and sheets, clothing, under garments.

Believe it or not, bad things can happen to skin when using strong detergents/dryer sheets.

Years ago, I had rosacea type of irritation on my face and under my eyes after sleeping on pillow cases (vacation house guest) which had been washed in strong detergent.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@halfpint1- why did you stop the medication?  Benadryl will help with itching.

Sulfites in wine and many ffood products can cause itching. Benadryl should help but determining what causes the itching should be paramount.

Benadryl is the best for hives especially .  They will make you very drowsy if your not used to taking this medication though so be aware of that.  I take it before bedtime every night so I'm used to it.  I would also see a dr if it continues.

Is capsules better? Can't sleep so I am up--warm milk and toast-hungry. Hasn't made me sleepy.

@halfpint1, the capsules are what we have in our medicine cabinet and they relive itching but can make a person drowsy.

@halfpint1- I take the gel caps.  They work faster in my opinion.
