Go find a gym.

That wasn't her question...

Yes, but that was my suggestion. Most home exercise equipment ends up sitting garage unused.

That is absolutely not true if you are a committed exerciser.  I am on my 5th bike, started riding every single day back in 1985.  At 62 I put in a couple of hours this morning before work and reading my library books.  I love food and want to eat what I want so I exercise daily before work, on my lunch hour, and on the weekends.

I do not nor have I ever had a recumbent bike just a regular one but this last bike is 20 years old.  Instead of buying a cheap Walmart/Target type like I always had done I went with Proform from Sears in 2000 and it as stood the test of my devotion.  Had to replace pedals, straps and the seat once but the bike works great.  In plain sight for all to see and not hidden away.  I do not do the gym thing since I like being alone and reading.  Good Luck OP I love biking.

@ahoymate   Not our bike...we use it in the winter, and walk outside in the summer.

DH is also looking for a recumbant bike like the one they have at his gym; so far, we haven't found the exact one available other than to commercial outlets. You may want to check marketplace on FB and at thrift stores; have seen several at Goodwill for about $40 but not sure what the working condition of them was. Any thrift store in your area probably has a few if your budget is a factor. I would check FB marketplace, but go try out a few at a store that sells them and see which brand or style you want.
