Maybe no confusion. It would be similar to the way pharmacies handle all of the various flu shots. Don't you think?
@Sugipine I've never known there was a choice of flu shots.
There are 2 flu shots. One is more for the elderly from what I understand. My doctor only offers the original so we got the other one from our pharamcy.
Looks like there's more than just two flu vaccines. CDC shows several kinds here:

I didn't know there were so many. The ones we get are for the elderly and are supposed to offer higher coverage. Our MD doesn't offer the stronger dose, that's why we go to Rite-Aid for ours.
I haven't seen any discussion on this latest entry into the vaccine wars. Actually it was approved by the FDA last June and ads are currently running on TV. It does have some side-effect, the usual for a vaccine, is said to be expensive and must be administered by a health care professional. Its not a pharmacy product.
I saw my doctor today and she talked me into it. So far, no reaction whatsoever. Not even a sore arm.
I've had several friends get pneumonia and die, so want to protect myself as much as possible.
@Kachina624 we had our shot last year. Nothing more than the usual sore arm for a day or two... I agree... do not want to get that sick with the flu.
@SeaMaiden This isn't a flu shot; its a new vaccine for pneumonia. So many elderly people die from pneuminia.
Just talked to my Dr re my vaccines and he said that since I had the Prevnar 13, not to pay any attention to the hype re Prevnar 20. They're the same thing.
So, if you didn't get the "13", it's a good idea to get the "20".
