My mom lost 45 lbs on Keto 3 years ago and is now off all medications including insulin. Thank GOD she has a dr who is progressive, educated himself on an ongoing basis and is not afraid to admit that in the past he was wrong.

Unfortunately, going on a low carbohydrate, high fat diet will be

the cause of so many other issues down the road.

Stunning to see ‘doctors’ prescribe to their patients a diet with

such unhealthy long-term results.  Some might say they are

doing that by design by keeping the patient a long-term patient.

The medical profession endorsing a ‘best-seller’ book diet

is saddening, at best.  And we have the statistics proving

these low carb/high fat diets do not work for long-term health.

The Keto Diet reminds me of The Atkins Diet that was popular back in the 80’s. I think that one should go to a licensed Nutritionist doctor. Weight Watches is another great program. They even have a program for people with Diabetes.

My husband goes on and off this diet constantly!  It works when he is on it, but taking carbs away totally, he can not deal with.  The only diet I've seen, that is healthy, and you can stay on, is Weight Watchers.  Saying that, I don't stay on it either, but they cut no foods out.  Just have to account for everything you eat.  A couple of rescue squad nurses told me it was the worst diet ever, and they saw many people in their ambulances with problems relating to the ketosis.  I've always had a weight problem, so whatever anyone can stay on, is ok with me.  But cutting out total groups of food, seems pretty tough to stay on.  I like beer too much, so that leaves it out for me!  LOL
