Please help! I think i just made a mistake and had plain yogurt. I tought I could have that. Getting ready to drink the solution at 4 or 6 p.m. This is my second one- every five years. I got sick on the last little bit of solution last time. I'm really getting nervous to go in Friday am.

I never had one, but DH has had two. He had a hard time getting down all that vile liquid you have to drink. You'd think they would come up with something easier to use.

Do you have pre-test instructions so you can check about the yogurt? I had my first one in October and the prep was the worst part. Maybe brush your teeth after you have the drink. You will be out for the test and it'll be over soon. Hope all goes well.

@BN MI Unless something has changed, you are not supposed to have any solid food (yogurt would be) the day before the test. The closest thing I was allowed to eat was jello, and only the light colored ones.

I think if I had eaten yogurt I would call and ask the nurse or dr. and ask if it was ok to go ahead because you aren't supposed to eat any yogurt, milk, cream, etc., stuff as it might
prevent a clear reading.
You just don't want to go thru all that prep stuff and then have it not be a clear reading and do it all over again.
Cause as we all have discovered, the colonoscopy is nothing, even a nice dreamy hour afterwards (my experience); its that awful drinking of all that liquid that is the most difficult.

If you’re supposed to be on all liquids the day before, then yogurt would be a no-no. Call your doctor’s office to confirm what you should do. You don’t want to go through all that awful prep only to be told that you can’t have that scope because of the yogurt.

Call the office right away! Usually (I have found) there is a main nurse right there who can advise you.
It is best to let them know...not always do they tell you “no”
I had to ask about taking some migraine medications (Excedrin and maybe omeprazole) before my one last July. It was ok to take these verified ahead of time.
Good luck! Let us know! The miralax prep was ok for me...and it seems there is more than one type prep.
Let the nurse KNOW you are nervous!💗

@StylishLady There are pills to take instead of drinking the liquid.

Also, anything red throws off the ability for the specialist to read the results.
Your directions are the best bet for finding out.

Call them....tell them what happened. Better they reschedule your test than you risk having to drink that awful stuff twice!
