Re: 🦷 IMPLANT SURGERY 🦷

Yes, thank goodness I'll be put to sleep.  I had to pay $2500 for the anesthesiologist.  The surgeon said there would be two other drs in there with her the whole time.  One guy is there just to make sure the temporary teeth my regular dentist made fit right.  She said he can adjust them if need be.

When I had my implants done - it was not painful. The nerve to your tooth is no longer there. So that is why I had no pain. There was no nerve to be bothered.

Good luck. It was the best thing that I did. I should have bypassed the root canals and gone straight to the implants. Would have saved myself lots of time and money.

Hope it is an easy process for you too.

I know just how you feel.  I've spent so much money on root canals and crowns and bridges that have failed.

I'm really happy to know the pain isn't too bad.  That's something that's really been on my mind.

My rheumatologist gives me a mild pain medicine to be taken as needed.  Because of this, the surgeon said I should ask her for additional medication.  She said she normally prescribed some, but would feel more comfortable if I got it from my other dr.  I've put off calling to ask because I really hate to put her in that position.  Hopefully, I won't need anything.🙏❤️

I'm sorry you have to deal with this and I can only magine your anxiety.....and the cost! Yikes!  I know how much it costs for just one implant.

However in the long run things should be much better for you!  Try to be positive! Smiley Happy

I will be thinking of you and hoping for the best pain free outcome!

Yes, that's understandable.  I was told to stop taking any steroids as well.  I haven't taken any in months in preparation.  I sure hope mine go as smoothly as yours did.❤️

Re: 🦷 IMPLANT SURGERY 🦷

They're doing the teeth at the same time?  It was a 4-step process for me where they installed the implant which they covered with my gum.  Then a few weeks later they uncovered the implant and I went to my regular dentist to do the 2-step crown procedure.  My dentist doesn't make the crowns in his office.

I only have one implant, but I was out for it.

Be sure to take Acidophilues pills or you'll likely get a yeast infection from antibiotics.

Are you getting implant-supported dentures or individual crowns?

lol, he called them the "Cadillac" of implants.  They're six implants that will support my entire upper smile.  No upper gums and they never come out.😃

The only thing I hate is losing the good virgin teeth I have on top.  She said this was the best option though since in the future I could likely develop problems with these teeth.

@haddon9

Thank you.  I really appreciate your kind words.❤️

I think the cost hurt worse than getting the surgery will.  It's a shame the way dental work is priced.  People deserve to have teeth and it be somewhat affordable.

That's why I can only afford to do the upper work first.  The surgeon is one BIG price and then the regular dentist who makes the teeth gets as much if not a little more!😔

Yes, they're doing them all at once.  I just hope and pray the temporary he's made looks and feels good.
