This Tuesday, I'm finally getting my dental implant surgery, well the first at least. I'm having six upper implants on the top for my uppers. I would've had the bottom work done at the same time, but I couldn't afford to do it all at once. The cost is obscene.

I'm really nervous and scared it's gonna be very painful.

@cheriere I am wishing you the best. I know you will be glad you had it done. Get lots of soft foods on hand whether you eat soups, mashed potatoes, yogurt, pudding, or whatever.

I think you will be out the whole time? That is a lot at once.

I had 2 implants but with novacaine and I don't remember any pain at all.

I know everyone is different and its natural to be nervous about it all. I hope it goes all ok for you!

When I had my implants done - it was not painful. The nerve to your tooth is no longer there. So that is why I had no pain. There was no nerve to be bothered.

Good luck. It was the best thing that I did. I should have bypassed the root canals and gone straight to the implants. Would have saved myself lots of time and money.

I have 8 implants each with an individual crown on top. I have one more implant to go but I'm waiting to get off of the bone density drugs before that...they interfere with the surgery.

So sorry. Be sure you get an antibiotic and have soft food.

Mac and cheese, eggs juice, buttered noodles with just red sauce, cottage cheese.

Yes, I've stocked up on all sorts of things like that. I'm not sure how long it will be before I can eat regular food. I'm just happy not to be leaving with missing teeth. They'll be putting temporaries on I'll have to wear about six months.
