Is Anyone Else on a Breathing Machine?

I am.  My oxygen is low.  I guess I don't do enough.  The machine is loud!

I am not but my Mother was on oxygen.  Her machine did have a sound.

I am sorry you are not feeling well and will be praying for you!

My dear sister was and it was noisy. It was a rather large one.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Re: Is Anyone Else on a Breathing Machine?

@ECBG Are you talking about an oxygen concentrator (machine that provides and administers oxygen) for home and portable use?  Breathing machine can mean a lot of different things.  A machine that provides supplemental oxygen doesn't "breathe" for you.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

@ECBG

my husband was on an oxygen concentrator after his second bout with pulmonary embolism       it was a big machine that was only used when he slept and it was pretty loud

this was in no way a portable machine

Re: Is Anyone Else on a Breathing Machine?

I know a lady who uses a portable oxygen concentrator away from home.  I've never noticed it making any sound.  She uses something else at home and has a very long tube leading from the bedroom to the other end of the house where she usually parks herself during the day.  She has end-stage COPD, so doesn't get around much.  In fact, her husband sorta makes her get out once a week for date night just to get her out of the house.  She's pretty much stopped coming to church.  It just takes too much out of her.

Re: Is Anyone Else on a Breathing Machine?

My husband has advanced COPD and is on oxygen 24/7; he has the concentrator for inhome use, and portable tanks for outings.  The concentrator is set up in our living room and he connects it to his cpap at night.

Low 02 sats are commonly related to heart and lung conditions like CHF and COPD.

@ECBG  What do your doctors think is causing your low oxygen? Sending prayers your way that this is reversible.

My breathing is low on the finger gauge.  Lost weight, had issues since I fell down the stairs.
