My script is synthetic, and it has helped my atrophy tremendously.

I had been on Estradiol and compounded Progesterone as part of my HRT for menopause up until a few months ago when I woke up one morning with profuse bleeding. From all the hormones I developed so many cysts and polyps. Had to have a D&C and have a lump removed from my breast! It was very scary!!. Never again. I stopped everything at once and am just living with the menopause symptoms. To me, it wasn't worth it.

A really great resource on HRT and menopause is Menopause Taylor on YouTube. She's a retired ob/gyn and her videos are so informative.

@pdlinda One other comment I wanted to make about taking BIH, my experience was that prior to taking them, I had always suffered painful, heavy menstrual cycles. That was due to uterine fibroids. Apparently they love estrogen. When I went through my change, I finally had relief from that.
I don't remember how long after taking the hormones, but all that started up again. The hormones were "awakening" the fibroids and causing me to bleed. I had to have several vaginal ultrasounds while on them and finally went off. I never got any of the benefits they were suppose to provide.
Some people have no problems with them. I just wanted you to hear from someone who did. If you have fibroids (a common thing ), I would discuss that with my doctor.

I have Lichen (mine is Lichen planus but the effects and treatment as the same as Lichen sclerosis). I can honestly say that the estradiol cream put me into "remission"...and cured the tissue issue!
That's fantastic! I think it's amazing stuff, really. I know people get nervous and scared when there's mention of supplementing our lost estrogen in any way but the way I see it is.... if you think about it, all our problems (dryness, joint pain, osteoporosis, breast cancer) usually begin around 40-50 about the time we start to lose our estrogen.....
Estrogen is very protective of many things ( bones, joints, brains, heart, etc).

@LTT1 I just wanted to circle back and thank you SO MUCH for mentioning (and showing a pic of) the disposable applicators! I would never have known about them if not for you. They fit the applicator perfectly, and as an aside, they are thinner than the applicator that comes with the cream so are much more comfortable to insert. Then the bonus of not having to wash an applicator? Money well spent!!! I am going to get on auto-delivery for the 120 count, because that will make them cost less than $4 a month. Thanks, again, and hope you have a blessed day!
