How silly. Why not just shake a broomstick back and forth?
Um, because there's no kinetic resistance with a broomstick. It's not a joke OP. Unless you are a fitness professional, I don't think you really know what you're talking about.

I also like this piece of equipment as an adjunct to the rest of my workout regimen. It's especially excellent for the core.
I purchased a much less expensive version of the BodyBlade from Walmart. It's the same exact thing.

I recently purchased the Reactor Aerobar Trainer from WalMart for $23.00 and it is indeed the same thing as the BodyBlade.

I don't know about the Body Blade but I own, use and love the Spin Gym.
I have a selection of weights and other items/machines I use too, as well as old-fashioned body weight exercises, but I like to the throw the Spin Gym in there too occasionally just to hit the arm muscles in a different way. I do a lot of things to "mix it up". The body gets used to the same exercises done the same way, day after day.
Once you try the Spin Gym, you will see in a very few short minutes just how much you can feel the resistance in your arm muscles. It's very handy when watching TV for a quick little arm workout or when you don't have much time. I definitely feel it in my arms and shoulders. It would not be my only workout but it's a useful addition.

Hi BMPerry, This will help to tone your arms to some extent, however, it will not affect the appearance of your arms as much as using weights and, at the same time, losing fat will. Also, if you use the blade but still have a lot of fat on your arms, the toning will not be too noticeable. You would have to lose the fat in order to see the effect of the blade. HTH.

Using the body blade has definitely toned and made my arms look better than they ever have and before I had nerve damage I weight trained for at least 20 years.

My arms are not fat just starting to get out of shape from what they used to be....I also do other excerises but wanted to add some variety into the mix, the bodyblade looked like it might work faster and isolate the area more

Thanks for the tip about this at WalMart! I went and looked at one the stores today but they don't carry it so I ordered it. I've been interested in the Bodyblade for awhile but can't justify that price but I can handle the $23.
