You don't get full contractions with this 'device.'
It's merely a cardio contraption...but hey...and movement is good...right?
Body Blade...Spin Gym...how goofy. You'd save a lot of money if you just bought a few resistance bands, and an exercise ball.

Full contraction is dependent on how one uses the Body Blade.
You can never get a full contraction using the Body Blade. Sorry.
Your muscles, your decision. For myself I know when my muscles are in full contraction and/or full extension. Same is true when I use the word hyper in front of both muscle movement terminologies, I can only speak for my muscles when in contraction or extension, and not the muscles of yourself or anyone else.

This thing is a gigantic joke!
"Pop, pop, pop!"
How silly. Why not just shake a broomstick back and forth?

The Bodyblade gets good reviews, not only on the Q but on Amazon as well. I'm giving it a go :-)

One of my hips is just about totally bone-on-bone. Load bearing, repetitious activities are very painful, and the hip buckles under me. I wish I could simply walk or do planks (getting up and down is tough).
The body blade is helpful, as I can stand, on a good day, or sit, and at least get my heart rate up a bit, and exercise my joints and muscles. It is harder than many seem to think that it is. Whoever said why not just shake a broomstick around, has not tried it.
I also use weights and a tube, do static exercises and stretches, and will hopefully have a prosthetic joint in a few months. Even before the hip completely failed and I was more active, I found the body blade to be a nice complement to my workout routine.
BTW - women are not genetically engineered to "bulk up". And, pound for pound, we have greater leg strength than men, so watch out!

I don't know about full contractions. Nor do I have any technical terms. I do know that my core is strengthened and my abs look great using the body blade alone. My only other exercise is walking.

I need some major arm toning and have been on the fence about buying this. Will this really work for spot toning ???
01-09-2015 07:54 AM
Definitely! It will do wonders for your arms if you use it steady. The beauty is that there is no way to do anything wrong. With weights and bands you have to do everything exactly correctly or you could do more harm than good. You can make up your own workout. Just use any movement that works the muscles you want to target. You will know as you will feel it immediately - and with the added benefit of core toning. You also can just pick it up for a few minutes all day long rather than a continuous workout.
Many trainers use this as it really does work and is so easy to do.

Haven't tried the Body Blade. Love the Spin Gym. About a year ago I tore my rotator cuff. Working my arms with free weights was torture so I got the Spin Gym. I have muscled arms, no bat wings and no stress on my rotator cuff. My rotator cuff is healed but I am still using the Spin Gym. If it does nothing, why do my arm muscles feel so stressed after a workout? By the way I am 63.

It does wonders for the arms. The Body Blade keeps the arms nicely toned. I can't say enough about it...
