Re: How about DON'T shut down the forums?

QVC never listens to its customers. Unless it hits their profit, they don't care.

No to Facebook! If no forums, I won't shop QVC!

I have two FB accounts--one real and one fake.  I use my fake one to post on business pages and public pages and will be the one I use for the QVC FB page.  That being said, I LOVE the forums!  I find out when free shipping is available and what rebate sites are offering what % back. I can ask questions on the wellness, kitchen, pet lovers, or electronic forums, etc.  I get recommendations for TV shows/movies/books--things I would never have known without these boards.  I have gotten so much advice here and enjoy reading many of the posts.

I joined that FB page when it first opened, and it was just women talking about fashion and makeup.  Which is fine, but at this stage in my life, that is not in what I'm interested.  I don't see any way that a FB page can be subdivided into groups like the forums are.  QVC has definitely caused me to spend less, because like others have said, I won't be getting any heads-ups on things.  Don't get rid of the forums, PLEASE!

These forums are important to a lot on customers who purchase a lot of $$$$ in products from QVC.  Many have come to be cyber, and a few, personal friends.

For those that are making this decision, you are making a huge business mistake. I have been on Bulletin board for probably 20 years, and it originally had only 5 forums. Additional forums were added for a purpose, and that purpose was more likely because of more sales.

Having run my own business for well over 50 years, one of the best ways to sell a product is via "word of mouth", be it audibly or through type. Had my wife not shown me this forum I doubt I would have known that QVC existed. While I haven't purchased as many items as my wife, the ones I did purchase were for a lot more dollars.

We are now living in a Cancel Culture, and I am hoping those making the decision on the future of this forum are not joining that culture. Hopefully this will not happen on 11/2/21.

Re: How about DON'T shut down the forums?

This news makes me incredibly sad.  I've been a forum visitor for 15+ years.  I'm not a super contributor like many, but I am a super connoisseur!  I've learned SO MUCH from you all, and enjoyed your support and company.  I have the forums set as one of the pages that automatically load when I launch my browser, and my forum visits often contributed to me purchasing from the Q.

I wish there was a similar "anonymous" place to gather.  The QVC FB option does not appeal to me.  I don't visit the HSN site, any word if their forums are going away too?

I will miss you all.

Getting rid of the forums is a bad idea! Why would I go to FaceBook? I'm not interested in being inundated with their ads or having them tracking my info.

If you are really interested in suggestions, how about this one - don't shut down the forums.

@GinaV24

I am on FB. My wife, unbeknown to me, signed me up. After I got requests from many I knew to be "friends", I do now us it for a few of my interests, and just fot keeping in touch with friends from my past, and a few of my present ones.

I think FB and the other big tech companies started out and were used for good purposes. Now???  I no longer can say the same. It is a giant monopoly that controls way too much of our way of communicating, and also has too much of our personal information.

I would give very serious thought before I decide if I want to join some type of Facebook/QVC Group. Right now I am leaning on negative.

This is such a bad move on QVC's part.  Their loyal customers utilize the forums for product information.  I have purchased product from QVC based on information I have read here.

I will not join Facebook, no thanks.  Interesting that there's a global outage of Facebook today.

I don't participate on Facebook either and don't plan to.  I think this is a bad decision on QVC's part.  I have purchased many items based on recommendations I've read about on this board.

Re: How about DON'T shut down the forums?

Terrible decision.  Many people here have developed friendships over many years.  You are now forcing us to lose our anonymity and our 'topics' by shuttling us over to FB and forcing us to discuss only what YOU lead the discussion to be.  I use FB for personal reasons, I'm not going to use it to replace these message boards.  And the major reason is the loss of anonymity.

You are wrong to do this QVC.
