Re: Default font size

[ Edited ]

@LilacTree  Try looking on the Barnes & Noble site. When purchasing, you'll see the option to purchased used books through Amazon (I think). Pull up that option and you'll usually finds books in all kinds of condition. Usually, the first books for $1.99 are paperbacks; hardbound books are more expensive.

It's the best way I've found to buy used books and I do try to find FREE shipping (if available) or a seller close to my city. Then I try to do business with the same seller most of the time if I've had good success with his/her books. BTW: I pay through PayPal to keep my identity secure.

You can change the font in the forums settings.

Click on your name toward the top right.

Click on My Settings.

Click on Preferences.

Click on Display.

Scroll down and resest the font size.

This affects only these forums.

If your font is too small on other sites or when using other programs, you'll have to check your computer settings.

@CalminHeart"you'll have to check your computer settings."

That is a good point!

Computer & mobile device screens come in all sizes which affects the font size on screen (desktop) as well as within browsers.  You should play around w/the "display" settings to find your comfort sight level.

My brother has an iPhone & his icons & fonts are large.  His app icons are huge.

I have a 27" screen desktop.  So my screen display setting is 1440x810.  This setting allows me to have medium size menu bar fonts in my Finder(screen/desktop) & huge font size in browsers menu bar.Screen Shot 2019-08-23 at Fri, Aug 23, 2019-2.17.17 PM.png

Above screenshot does not show the true size.  Believe me, the fonts are huge on the menu bar of the browser & medium in the Finder (screen/desktop).

            Good point, @CalminHeart!🌻  I think this was the preference setting @BirkiLady referenced, earlier, too.   Of course, it only takes effect after we sign in (since it's a personal customization) and only for this site.

            I wanted to add that when we use the "X-Large" Text size it can affect the display of longer signature lines -- as we talked about in another thread*, it might chop off part of a siggy.    Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but I wanted to mention it in case someone decides to change their settings.

@LilacTree

I agree!!! As you can "hopefully" see😉 I change the font size before I post but for some reason it works then reverts back to default (3).

I just lately am having this problem on my IPad🤔🤔🤔

@LilacTree  Just discovered something I thought I would share.

In checking the settings on my Fire 10, I saw my font size set at HUGE.  I set it smaller and my screen would not Zoom, put it back on HUGE and everything Zooms!!!!!

Don't know about your IPad.  Just a thought and worth a try!

@Zhills

Thanks, Zhills . . . I’ll give it a try!

             Great tips, @Zhills!🌻   @LilacTree,  If you haven't already done so, you might find something by browsing the accessibility features available on the iPad.    Here's one link to copy and paste, or just search and read some of the other links and articles:  apple.com/accessibility/ipad/
