Was thumbing through my seasonal recipes and came across this kugel recipe. Please add your recipes:
7 tbsp softened butter
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp cinnamon
1 lb extra-wide egg noodles (I use Manischewitz)
2 cups sour cream
2 cups cottage cheese
1 lb cream cheese
2 eggs + 2 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp grated lemon zest
1 cup raisins (I prefer golden)
Mix 4 tbsp butter, brown sugar. walnuts, and cinnamon in dish.
Cook noodles in 4 qts boiling, salted (1 tbsp) water for about 6 minutes until almost tender. Drain and toss in big bowl with 2 tbsp butter. Let cool.
Beat sour cream, cottage cheese, and cream cheese with electric mixer until smooth. Beat in eggs and yolks, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest.
Toss cooled noodles with cream cheese mixture and raisins. Pour into greased (1 tbsp butter) 9x13" baking dish. Dot top with walnut mixture in dish.
Bake at 350 degrees until top is golden and crispy, 40-45 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes.
