Almond Torta (easy yummy cake-like dessert)

This "cake" is so easy and we love it...
We go to an Italian bakery in San Francisco (It's been there many, many years!) and buy their Almond Torta - It's so good! This is what we make when we're not close enough to purchase from that bakery!
We are in "almond territory" in our area of California, and this recipe was posted in our local newspaper during the almond blossom season one year:
ALMOND TORTA by DiamondGirly
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter (no substitutions), melted
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons almond extract
confectioners’ sugar
In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until lemon-colored. Add the butter, flour and extract; mix well.
Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Cool on a wire rack.
Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar.
Enjoy!!
*When my Mom made this, I noted it took 45 minutes in her oven. I didn't note how long my oven took...just an FYI
This is one I found here that I love to make and everyone seems to enjoy it. Munching on a piece right now. ![]()

now I'm craving a plate lunch.....
That's probably why Betty Crocker changed the name from Huli to Hula Chicken.

However Carol has been MIA at this site for several years. I tried to copy her recipe here but cannot. However, my first recipe from Recipe Swap was Carol's White Chocolate Popcorn, and I still make it often.
Search Carol1229 Taste of Home on Google & click on the link to see a bunch of her recipes. There are also other sites listed on the search. I wish she would come back to the forums to post recipes.
