I like and trust Dan Hughes as well.  As for ITKWD:  it was the cash cow for the Q for a long time.  Part of the revenue decrease experienced by the channel was in the cooking/kitchen department - I don't know if ITKWD decreased as well, but the Q must think David can shore up revenues because he was given the new evening shows.

In The Kitchen With Bob was a show I never missed. When they simply changed the name to David, I wondered if some kind of power play ousted Bob and David was waiting in the wings. Now I rarely watch kitchen shows, but I like David's holiday decorating shows.

If that's true then David was very patient. Bob's last day on-air was December 14, 2008 and Sunday afternoons became In the Kitchen with rotating hosts until June 14, 2009 when the first In the Kitchen with David aired. That's twice as long as the 3 month gap between Lisa R's last PM Style and the first PM Style with Shawn Killinger. Mike George became CEO in fall 2006 and instituted a lot of big changes starting in 2007. Not renewing Bob's contract in 2008 was one of them.

@sashamatthews  ..... I think QVC is hoping he will help increase sales by giving him additional air time. The thing is they need to realize they cannot keep showing the same products over and over again. They need to find new vendors and new enticing merchandise. There is an old saying ..... "too much of a good thing ...... ".

I still miss Bob and felt he was given a terrible send off for someone who had been there so long.  A short video that looked like it was filmed from a prison camp.  The man is now relegated to doing community theatre, a far step down from someone who was on TV.  Bob EDUCATED us. David is happy and friendlier than Bob but I never learn anything from watching him.   Sadly Bob is another relic from the hey day of QVC when people like Kathy Levine would walk the halls.

I agree with you, Sheila.  With the whole world available to the Q, why are they so focused on perhaps a couple hundred particular products?  Even HSN is more interesting than QVC.  And I must say I like JTV jewelry offerings better than either HSN or QVC.

I have always liked David, but I'm watching (and buying) less.  I get so tired of the repeating "how many left" in all the colors and also waiting for "Jenny the new girl" to come and take the Kitchen Aid mixer off the table as the "silver sold out."   Big waste of time and makes it boring.  Also, don't enjoy the TSV being on for 40 minutes if  it isn't a kitchen item.

Strange that Dan Hughes does not seem to get the same love and respect that David gets.  Dan Hughes' folksy personality is very endearing to many of us. He has a self deprecating sense of humor and adores his wife.  He is very handy with cars and fixing things but has said he is clumsy in the kitchen and with fashion and decor. He has always yielded to his darling wife to handle that.  Personally Dan is the only hosr I trust.  He has not steered me wrong in the 20 years Ive watched him. Now I know David seems to get the adoration but Dan is underutilized in my opinion. I have sent several letters to Dan on Facebook to assure him that he has a following also.

I think Dan Hughes is a good host ..... he let's the vendor speak and explain all the important product info ....Some dont like his sense of humor....I dont mind it ....And of course, as an animal lover, I love it when he brings his dogs in to be "the models" for the sofa covers and pet products etc.....Dan provides a welcome change of pace....

I so agree about Dan Hughes! I love his shows and presentations! Especially during the Christmas season! I try to catch all of "Home for the Holidays w/Dan" beginning with Christmas in July! Dan is the best!!!❤

Whats not to like about Dan Hughes' humor.  Its folksy and quaint. Perhaps Big  City folk think his jokes are corny but who cares !   Dan has always said he relies on his wife and I find it adorable.  The man is color blind and has no sense of color.  His wife dresses. And if he doesnt undertsand something he is not too proud to say so - for example with computers Dan struggles. He often leaves all his passwords on sticky post it notes. He is trying to adapt to technology like the rest of us.
