@proudlyfromNJ  ...... No. I don't do Facebook. Nothing against it ...... it just isn't for me.

@Sheila P-Burg   Actually it doesn’t matter if you do FB. All the hosts have open FB pages. Anyone can read them. Ditto with their Instagram.

What @kaydee50 said.

And the hosts aren't selling me anything; I'm buying.

I disagree. We can BUY anywhere, usually at a cheaper price. It is the hosts job to convince us that we need to buy the product. Many times they mention they own it and many on these boards are envious of the hosts lifestyles so we purchase the item.

I think shoppers are starting to realize that most of the products are over priced even the tsv's. Yesterday the pan they were selling went for $159.00. I personally would not purchase even though it was a brand name. The day before that the treadmill was 600.00. I watched for a few minutes while they were walking on it and I noticed that the belt was dragging a little bit. You could have a planet fitness membership for 5 years for that price. Just saying.

Last night I had David's show on more as background noise than anything else.  As I was in the kitchen, I noticed that most, if not all of his talking points were the same for each and every product.  The lines are busy, run down of colors and quantities sold, etc. It bordered on manic.  It was much more noticeable when I was just listening to it, instead of actually watching it.

I wouldn't trust David anymore than any other host about a product.  He likes spouting numbers, blah, blah, blah sold in this show alone.  He LOVES EVERY food he puts in his mouth but when I bought one of them to try, it was terrible... IT'S JUST FOR SALES, THAT IS HIS MOTIVATION.

i wonder what most hosts would do if they came face to face with customers who told them just what garbage they are selling.  I bet they would run in the oppostie direction.

@betteD   What do you think their job is? They host the show to sell the products to viewers. I don’t get why people don’t understand this. ‘Just for sales’ is QVC’s motivation.

I am an older lady and a QVC customer for years.  I never have and never will buy anything with someone's name on it.  (like the ITKWD mugs, aprons, etc.)  Just not my style.  Plus no one coming to my home would know what that is--no one I know watches QVC)

I DO get it and that was the point I was making, in caps.

I like and trust Dan Hughes as well.  As for ITKWD:  it was the cash cow for the Q for a long time.  Part of the revenue decrease experienced by the channel was in the cooking/kitchen department - I don't know if ITKWD decreased as well, but the Q must think David can shore up revenues because he was given the new evening shows.
