When all is said and done(I know,more is often said than done) why wouldn't they take an early retirement package?

As I have said before,I think many of these postings reflect the feelings of the poster about early retirement,etc.

I still can't believe QVCs decision to let Carolyn and Dan go. They were the hosts that carried and built the majority of QVC's audience. I guess QVC has said out with the old and in with the new. And that means customers too. Long time customers with relationships with these hosts are what really helped build the QVC brand. Oh they (QVC) kept a few good hosts but just a few. And then hired new ones for less money who don't have a clue who the long time customers are or what products we want to see. Shame on you QVC.

Further, I like your psychological interpretation of the posters who are wailing over Dan and Carolyn, if I'm reading it correctly. That which causes such a passionate response in people may be a reflection of their own fears about growing older, not being relevant, being terminated, etc. Fascinating and thoughtful. Thank you.

I hear QVC FINALLY got around to repairing the claw marks on the door to the HR office when the severance package was announced...

Carolyn and Dan were the first ones at that door to sign up....fighting and clawing to be first!!!

And why wouldn't they? Almost retirement age, pad the ole retirement account, get out and enjoy life while still young enough to do so...

They are fine. In fact, Carolyn is probably out polishing that Jag getting ready for a ride on this first class summer day.here in PA...instead of driving to Q, getting made up, squeezing into today's special value ( the one with horizontal stripes) , reciting in her head right before she goes on air the sales spiel, practicing a smile for the camera, and then, after her show, attending an endless sales meeting where numbers and figures are reviewed in front of peers, along with stern warningst that if things don't improve, lay offs are coming.

You will NOT see that Jag in front of the Dollar Store!!!

Carolyn is FINE!!!!

Speak for yourself. I found Dan a total bore and never watched him. I don't care about Carolyn as I have no attachment to a tv salesperson.
