Re: HOW MANY SALES HAS QVC LOST

@BalletBabe - I'm still waiting to hear about the "great things" they have coming for us longtime customers!  Anybody hear about that yet?

I did get an email with a coupon worth 20% off, but it had to be a minimum purchase of $75 and was only good for that day.  I passed on that.

@Venezia   I heard nothing either.  I also got no coupon.  They are hurting themselves.  There are so many places to shop with better prices and free shipping.

Exactly!  I was thinking about that too.  After Halloween, the holiday shopping season will be in full swing.  I wonder when these "great things" will happen?

Count me in as one of the customers who was very upset by the free shipping for new customers decision.  I haven't purchased anything since it happened.  I didn't make a conscious decision not to buy.  I kept recording and watching shows as I always do.  However, if something interests me, I really think it over.  So far, I haven't felt the need to make any purchases and I'm okay with that.  I'm not boycotting QVC.  I'm just not giving them my business as easily anymore.

Definitely agree balletbabe. Not buying until January.  Good news that I have found free shipping and discounts on all the vendor web sites I have checked.  This shipping snub by qvc has certainly broadened my shopping horizons.

You are not alone.  I bought only one thing from QVC since they instituted the free shipping for new customers, and that was only because I received a $10 coupon code and wanted to use it.  The one and only perk that I ever got in about 35 years.

Re: HOW MANY SALES HAS QVC LOST

I used to buy quite a bit during the holidays. This year my daughter and granddaughters made wishlists on Amazon so I'm done shopping for them . I was looking at a winter coat from QVC but found a better one for lower price and free shipping elsewhere.  I do like the bagels and of course they always have free shipping but on the Just Bagels site they are cheaper and they are also offering free shipping. I may have purchased a few items, but, I really havent been watching since it is the same old stuff. So they aren't losing a ton of money from me.

You're the type of shopper we need.  One who openly expresses displeasure when a retailer treats customers unfairly.  Rolling over, silence and acceptance. gets us nowhere except more of the same down the road.

@Foxxee  - I love your post.  @BalletBabe is not afraid to voice her opinion and she is the type of shopper that wants to be heard.  I like her determination!

Re: HOW MANY SALES HAS QVC LOST

I haven't bought anything either, I've shopped multiple local stores lately instead. I've saved on shipping and at my local PX no tax. I think QVC adds the shipping on after the tax is added. Why pay tax on shipping?!

Re: HOW MANY SALES HAS QVC LOST

1Snickers I don't understand it either why the shipping is taxed. I live in California where the sales tax is 10 percent. If the shipping is 3.50 or 5.50 I actually pay 3.
85 and 6.05 shipping.

Re: HOW MANY SALES HAS QVC LOST

As of today 28 states (and D.C.) levy their sales tax on shipping and handling charges.

It's nothing manipulative on the part of QVC or other online retailers.

It's state by state tax law.
