@homedecor1 - Why don't you send it to Mr. Rawlinson? It is a bit strange to use that word in a business letter.

@781Florist - Well, I don't fit into your age groups and I would take exception to be addressed as "Babe". (And that's a pretty sweeping generalization.)
It sounds sexist to me and no one I know had better call me that. And it certainly doesn't belong in any professional communication.

I really can't imagine QVC sending an email like that. I agree with the others here who think it's not really from them. They either got hacked or it's spam from an email address that looks similiar to QVC, but is not really them. You have to look at the details of the email address it was sent from. Does it resemble QVC's address, but something is off at the end? If so, it's not really from them.
As others mentioned, don't click on a thing.
If it IS from QVC, that's really weird and yes, inappropriate.

While I find it inappropriate for a business it does not offend me, its too trivial to be offended.

Perhaps you should re-read my comment to better understand what I said.
I clearly stated that the term had no place in any type of business/professional communication, so there's that.
Secondly, I mentioned that both males AND females used the word as a term of endearment. It was not something used willy-nilly by someone you would meet on the street. It was not employed in any kind of sexist interpretation. A wife to a husband...
or a girlfriend to a boyfriend or a boyfriend to a boyfriend, or a girlfriend to a girlfriend...
could say "Hey, babe--I'm going to CVS. Need anything?" Not demeaning. Not sexist.
Simply a term of affection.
People who look for reasons to be offended will always find them.

Are you sure it's from QVC?
I'd rightclick the sender to be sure it's legit.
If legit, it's tacky as h***.

"C'mon babe, follow me- I'm the Pied Piper"
"Oooh it's you, babe whenever I get weary...."
I certainly don't think that the term Babe is appropriate for use in any type of business setting or communication, but as far as any man getting killed for calling his love "Babe"
(or, by the way...any woman calling her man "Babe"!!) I think that all of you who are offended by that either date fron the 1950s or the 1990s and onward.
Back in the 60s and the 70s, "Babe" was a commonly used term of endearment and was not construed as derogatory in any way, shape or form.
Hi @781Florist
I was born in 58 and so I was a child in the 60's and teen in the 70's. We all have our own personal experiences and opinions, and I am not putting down yours. To me, the word babe came to be sort of a sexist word, indicating that the women called that are just a pretty face or nice body and brains do not matter. I think that the word babe did not start out that way, but evolved in the late sixties/early seventies, when women began demanding equal rights.

It's kind of cringey to me and not professional.

@homedecor1 My first reaction is that BABE is insulting and demeaning...especially in this time of Me To, etc.
No one calls me Babe. QVC would get a scathing email reply from me.
If they haven't already lost me as a customer, this would be the last nail in the coffin....

(I ordered a home decor item a few weeks ago).
I'd email the QVC Social Team and asked if they got hacked. So bizarre and out of touch, almost seems like a genuine possibility.
@rockygems123 I completely agree! This does not sound like something QVC would send, not that it might not be genuine because they have been making a lot of changes lately. Must be some new marketing people.
We have been trained at work not to open anything that may look suspicious: look at the email address carefully, look for mispellings in the body of the email.
I receive a lot of QVC email and I did not receive that.
