I want some!!! LOL The caramel corn with cashews AND bacon sounds like an excellent choice. I am sure the teens will gobble it up.

Horribly hot today. Started off nicely but did not stay that way too long - was hot by about 9. Cannot stand this heat.
Inside the house stayed pretty nice however, until about 4 and then it got a bit much. Turned on the ACs but not the small one in the kitchen. Clue. Did NOT cook dinner - Davey made a Bologna sandwich, the little girl picked at her food but had a great breakfast - not so great lunch or dinner. I had a salad and crackers - I think all were satisfied.
The little one is rolling however. She is yelling like crazy from her bed - not crying but just plain making a rackets. Wish she would zip her lip and shut her eyes - I am tired. LOL.
Hope all had a great day.

Last night was the worst I can remember since I have been in California. It was miserable and bright and early it was HOTTER than HOT. This needs to stop. Miserable all day also.
Popped a couple of pizzas in the oven and they are all gone. Guess that worked out OK for dinner.
Tomorrow should start off busy - have to take Ricky on an appointment and I just dread it as it is suppose to be another miserable day. Palm Springs has been running 122 for several days - too much. And to think I worked there almost 40 years but used my brains, REFUSED to move there!!!.
Hope one and all had a very good day and your eating was up to par.

Winifred, I feel you pain with that horrible heat. I am not a fan of hot, hot weather. I stay inside a much as possible when the temperature gets above 90. And let's not even mention the dreaded humidity!
Well, my bacon caramel corn was a hit! I think it was even good without the bacon, the bacon just took it over the top.
Yesterday we went to a seafood festival. It was a lot smaller than one we had been to a couple years ago, so that was disappointing. Not many vendors or restaurants, and no crafts, just a handful of foodtrucks! Oh well. Had a delicious loster roll. A warm one with melted butter, not a cold one with mayo. It was so good! Had burgers on the grill last night along with grill corn on the cob. Today I get back to eating healthier without all the white bread that I had yesterday! I am in the mood for a big salad wth maybe shrimp, feta and blueberries. I love the sweet/
Have a good day everyone and try to stay cool.

Not sure what happened to the rest of my post, so here it is:
I meant to post that I love the sweet/salty combination of the feta cheese and fruit.
Vabreeze, I didn't have a chance to pick up a watermelon over the weekend, but I did have the Tajin chili lime seasoning on my corn last night and it was awesome. Even my husband liked it!
Well, have a good day everyone and try to stay cool. I hope everyone eats something delicious today ![]()

Part Deux, that salad sounds good, I may steal your idea for my dinner tonight. My family wants grillled hamburgers, so they can have that.
mousiegirl: That is great that you found a book donation that helps veterans. My poor brother was a veteran that never got the help he needed. I support anything that gives help to veterans.
Winifred, I hope you managed to find some relief from the heat today.
I managed to steal away to the beach for an hour, I want to ride my bike but the green heads are out, I can only go in the morning before 7 or they'll get me. Maybe tomorrow. Enjoy your day everyone!

I also use Tajin on corn! When I make a corn salad, I mix the mayo (found a great bacon-flavored mayo at Big Lots) with cumin and the chili lime seasoning before adding it to the corn mixture.
Btw, are you familiar with how to edit your post? In the post where some of what you typed was omitted and you provided that additional info in another posting, you could have clicked on the three dots at the top right of the incomplete post and one of the options that opens up to you is to edit the listed post. If this option is selected, then you are taken to the 'reply' screen where you can see your post as listed and the reply box to indicate the info that was not shown. This just allow you to continue and complete your original post..... not that there is a problem at all with doing another posting as you did.
However, in typing a second post, it certainly allows us readers to know your exasperation when info just disappears
because it certainly has happened to me several times too many,:

@vabreeze I had never heard of Tajin, imagine that, until you mentioned it the other day, so I just ordered some from amazon, has ingredients that I love.

@PartDeux After your mention of caramel corn with cashews and bacon, I looked for recipes, one mentions oolong tea as an ingredient, soaking the bag then squeezing and using the tea, and another has bourbon. Is your recipe similar, or could you post it? ![]()

Vabreeze, your corn sounds so much better than mine. Who knew, bacon mayo! I see a bacon theme happening here : )
Thank you for the tutorial re: editing. I printed it out so that I know for next time. I'm such a newbie and need all the help that I can get!
Mousie, I found the recipe on Allrecipes.com. It's called DB's Caramel Popcorn Bacon Mix. Sorry, but I don't know if it will be legible if I cut and paste it. Let me tell you how I changed it when I made it. I bought all of these ingrediants at Aldi.
These were just my preferences. Besides, Aldi had the bagged popcorn which saved me some time. The recipe is a little labor intensive, but I thought it was worth it.
