I actually remembered to start the new monthly thread early in the a.m. Is that progress or what:
For dinner last night was great food from Farmer Boy's but they forgot the avocado on my California BLT. Boo Hoo. Called them to remind their "cook" avocado is the big thing on that particular sandwich. They offered me 50 percent off on my next visit but I told them just to make sure they prepared the sandwich correctly. LOL.
Another overcast, damp and chilly morning. Little girl is still asleep - same with Davey. I would love to still be in bed but I woke up and that usually does it for me. Am still sleepy however.
Want to see a lot of people coming here and telling us what is on their dinner table. I always enjoy reading what others eat and often get some good ideas. Still am missing Soushi like crazy. Do wish we could get her back here - she was such a big supporter of the What's Cooking from the get go. Come on Bev, we miss you. Do understand your loss and you need to know that also - when I think of you I also think of your dear hubby.
Have a great day one and all.

Good morning! I am new to this forum & looking forward to some interesting stuff.
I bought a turkey breast tenderloin and I am going to cut it in half and I will be sprinkling one of the halves with a bourbon brown sugar rub, the other half will be rubbed with a hickory smoke blend. Going to cook them in my air fryer. Want to see which one that I like best because they both sound good to me!

CanCun, I need to look up the air fryer. As old as I am I have never heard of them. See, you can learn a lot of things here. By the way, this thread is super old and was started by a lady named Shirley - just went blank on her name here on the boards. Will think of it like boom, probably. I do not believe she posts at all on these boards - so sad as thru the years we have lost some great posters. Hope to see you coming back.
Good Morning flbettyboop. Like your picture.

What time is dinner? I haven't had either of them, but would be willing to sample. Of course you may live on either coast & I am in S. WI.

June already, unbelievable! Yay for me as for the first time, I remembered that today is a new month, instead of it taking me over a week to realize it, looking at the previous month's thread thinking no one was posting, lol.
On Sunday, I grilled skirt steak and served it with green beans with extra virgin olive oil and garlic, and potato salad that I made the day before.
Monday, I grilled chicken breasts for DH with white sharp cheddar melted on top to be placed on a bun with avocado and sweet onion on top and all of the condiments that he uses. I grilled chicken thighs, boneless and skinless, and basted with butter and Worcestershire sauce, so yummy. I ate those with the green beans.
Last night, I used the leftover skirt steak, chopped and added to sauteed onions for tacos, cheese on the grilled tortilla, then refried beans, then meat and onions, then avocado. Usually, I just eat the beans on a grilled tortilla, and always add spice to the beans. I used to make a vat of the beans and freeze in batches, and must do that again as they are fantastic, such wonderful flavor, a recipe given to me by a friend of DD's in grammar school. Whenever our little group would get together, she would bring her beans and red rice, DD loved the rice, I loved the beans, and I would bring a huge pesto pasta or Chinese chicken salad.
I would make a vat of the salad then add the lettuce at serving time so it would keep longer. It is quite a project. Frying separately the chicken breasts until crispy, wonton strips, bean threads, chopping almonds and mincing green onions, making a dressing, chopping cilantro, and shreading lettuce. I would have paper towels lining a large part of the counter to drain everything, and need I say that the bean threads had a mind of their own, jumping all over, what a messy cleanup, but so worth it.

I had pork chops, green beans and mashed potatoes. Very good and simple to fix. Say a prayer the little one will crash shortly. She has been getting later and later with her bedtimes - cannot figure out why but I do NOT like it. LOL. She did not have a nap until about 5 this afternoon which is way too late - messes up everything. But I woke her up at 7, bathed her and fed her - a tad late but better than nothing. She rolled for a good hour or so and hopefully will go to sleep - hope it stays this way as it has actually been quiet for about 5 minutes now. Shhhh!!!
Hope all had a great day.
