Re: Trader Joe's This Sunday

Check out their dark chocolate mini peanut butter cups. I love their dark chocolate. Found a rub that included coffee and it's fantastic. My store didn't have it the last time I went. Hope it's back in stock. ITA with all the others about their freezer section. Enjoy

Brandi, I really hate to ask: How do the dark chocolate peanut butter cups compare to Reeses?

I will look for the rub, thanks!

I have never cooked pork belly. What do you make with it.

The pork belly at Trader Joe's is cooked. You just need to heat it up and eat.

I add mine to my beans. Just a few slices, and DH devours the rest out of the pan.

It's a thick layer of loin, topped with a thin layer of pork fat and topped with canadian bacon.

It is the food of the gods! I buy two packages.

I guess it is in the packaged meat section, will have to look more closely.

The shrimp gyoza is very good too. Someone turned us on to the scallion pancakes and we love them.

I use it to make split pea soup. Buy it frozen in the meat section-not at TJ's.

I buy the Smoked Spanish Paprika and the Everyday Seasoning in the grinder. The Garlic Salt was disappointing; I'm returning it.

Herbs and spices, I get from Penzeys.

I love the Comte cheese. I'm glad they carry it here.

What wines do you recommend? I'm buying a case of the TJ Coastal chardonnay.

If you have an abundance of garden tomatoes and like tomatoe salads. Get the fresh mozzarella cheese for caprese salads-we also grow basil. Some good olive oil & bread...yummy! And we like Greek salads-get the feta cheese in block form at TJ, fresher than buying crumbled, and english cucumber. All you need is big chuncks of tomatoes, cucumbers, thinly sliced red onion, s&p, plus a small sprinkling of oregano, top with greek olive oil or any olive oil. Nothing like the taste of garden tomatoes ;-)

Is it in the deli section or the fresh meats? I have never seen in at our TJ's but then again I wasn't looking for it. Actually I don't think I have ever seen it at a grocery store.

Don't miss the chocolate croissants! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

The mini chicken pot pies were very good - can't wait to get more. And last trip I got all kinds of unique produce.

They fresh mozzarella is wonderful too.

If you like Oreos, try their Jo Jo's - same as Oreos, but without that HFCS junk.

If you have a dog, try their kibble. My two dogs HATE kibble - it usually sits in their bowl until they get good and hungry. I tried the TJ kibble, and it's gone within minutes of my putting it out. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}
