I had a friend whose DH is from Ireland......she invited a few friends over on St Patrick's Day and made a really delicious potato soup, cabbage casserole, and soda bread.....and green jello poke cake that is just fun! One of the guests asked her why no corned beef and she said because DH hates it! I hope it becomes a tradition because we all enjoyed it. OP needs to know corned beef is not required especially if no one likes it.

My take on this is that it's dangerous not to be honest in the most diplomatic way with friends and family about food preferences...especially something so specific. If she doesn't know how you feel it could turn into an annual tradition.
