@ECBG I love having breakfast at a restaurant! Its my favorite meal of the day! When I was a kid, my mom would have one night a week that we all had breakfast for dinner. I would do that too with my son. I am not a meat eater, so for me I just prefer breakfast foods. To each his own.

Did you read my original post? Really read it?
I asked what was being offered in other area's restaurant to see if there was a trend.
Here, this trend has only taken hold in the last year or so. Many wonderful choices have been scrapped.
I then told my feeling on the change and you jumped down on me for my preferences. Not a discussion, but an attack.
I KNEW the menu and have been there many times before the change, thank you.
Perhaps we should all fit your mold since you have deemed it outstanding. Did you know that other opinions exist than yours?

Maybe just meet friends for dinner instead of lunch. More options.

In the last 3 years here, restaurants some have gone to such a large breakfast menu that non breakfast choices are very sparse.
I can't eat breakfast items through 2 pm and be able to make it to dinner. If it did hold me the fat count would be unacceptable. I also prefer salad and sandwiches to breakfast items.
You may like breakfast unlike me. Breakfast needs to be ended by 10 am (ish) in my book. I saw 2 entire pages of breakfast items today with 5 choices that were lunch. I saw the same thing the other day when I met a friend at another restaurant.
YES, I have complained.
As a diabetic, I cannot eat a lot of traditional breakfast foods. I usually google the menu of the chosen restaurant before going for lunch. Lots of pancakes, waffles and cheap carbohydrates. My family and friends are sensitive enough to know I cannot eat in that type of restaurant.
I live in an area that has a restaurant for every dietary need, so that helps a lot @ECBG .

Before you were diabetic, did you find that syrup would make you slightly nauseous? As a child, of course I loved the syrup. I wouldn't feel good soon after.
I am not diabetic, nor have I ever had that reaction from eating anything else, like homemade fudge.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for, and what I don't prepare at home. I happen to love omelets morning noon or night, but usually only eat them in restaurants.
Breakfast can be comfort food, and could be a few bucks cheaper. I think the restaurant isn't to be faulted for offerring several breakfast options if that what's being ordered by customers. Whatever sells best, they will offer more of.
If they don't have enough lunch options, try another restaurant, for a little variety.

Yes, I did find pancakes and syrup made me sick @ECBG . I contracted Type 1 diabetes at 17 but could never really eat sugary foods without some discomfort.
You may have reacted to maple syrup because it is dense with sugar, rapidly raising blood sugar. Fudge has fat which slows down the digestion of the sugar.

That was such a "sick all over feeling".
Eventually, I learned to not pour the syrup, (I didn't like the soaked in syrup anyway.); but dip, like many do salad dressing now.
I can eat 3 or 4 bites, but I'm done.
