Re: MAY 2017 - What's Cooking - where did the last month go

Didn't realize I did not make it here yesterday. Probably just as well as i had nothing much to say EXCEPT it was scorching hot here yesterday. Each year I like the hot weather less and less. Very difficult to move around in and I have a lot of difficulty breathing in it. Times have changed.

Need to check the bird feeders - hope they still have some food left in them - probably not. Also need to put some water in the little bird bath. Past several years we have not been allowed to do things like that due to the drought - it has eased somewhat for this year BUT they have kept the horrible high rates. Well of course. Yards are full of stickers now - grass gone and it has really reverted to what was once here before houses were built.  real nightmare!!!

Still do not feel up to fixing anything great in the kitchen so may have Davey fix some hot dogs on the grill - he likes to do that - well he use to. LOL.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Unfortunately I am  STILL awake and this is nuts. Just been a busy day and the little girl will NOT go to sleep. Poor thing. Rickey jumped on my ancient glass top end table and went thru it. He is not feeling well at all - really sliced his leg. Does it ever end.

Sleep well, and of course most of you are probably well asleep. Wish I was.

Boneless chuck roast - scrumptious -  fresh green beans and baked potatoes. Also had some cut up fruit - super good and I am tired.

Almost 100 here today - did NOT like it.

Subway sandwiches for dinner last night. The two little ones had meatball sandwiches - they did a good job on them. Of course we had a few chips thrown in for good measure.

Re: MAY 2017 - What's Cooking - where did the last month go

On Sunday night, we had steak and baked potatoes.  I baked five large potatoes because I didn't want them to turn green.  DH ate one whole potato, and I saved the rest to make potato skins with, which I did last night.

I scooped out the centers, then brushed the inside and skins with melted butter and olive oil, baked them at 400 on each side until very crispy, then filled them with a mix of white cheddar and Jarlsburg until melted, DH had the rest of the sour cream and chives on his, I just ate unmelted shredded cheese on mine, along with a salad, and DH also had three sausages with cheese and seasoning.  This brand, Silva, I do not like.  He came home from Costco once with them, I told him to get Aidells.

He went to Costco again last week, and I couldn't believe he came home with more of them, said he tasted them there and liked them.  He was hungry then, so anything would have tasted good.  I tasted a teeny bit last night, and they are terrible,  but he has two more packages to eat, lol.
