I would love to have a glass bowl so I could put it in the DW. I may look into that for mine. I'd also like some of the accessories but just never get into ordering them. The flex edge beater would be very nice. Something fabulous about KA - mine is 75 years old but I can still buy accessories for it today and they fit perfectly.

I didn't have very good luck with mine when I ordered yr or so ago. I ordered the pink with ss bowl not this one. Sent it back, got a new one from KA, sent it back, finally just got a cash refund from Q.

Did buy the KA mini from Bed and Bath. It's been good. Keep it for small jobs

I’ve always put my KA stainless steel  bowls in the dishwasher and they’ve come out fine. I bought the flex paddle when it first came out. It helps a little bit, but you still have to scrape the bottom of the bowl to get everything that’s down there. I really like my stainless steel bowl with the handle. It comes in handy when the batter’s pourable.

@151949: the glass bowl is heavy, even when empty!

Did you mean microwave? I assume you have a SS bowl, which can go in the DW.

You are fortunate to have inherited a vintage KA stand mixer. I'm sure it's a much better machine than what is made today.

In addition to being heavy, the glass bowls seem to be a tad fragile. I was watching a rerun of The Great British Baking Show where Ruby broke her mixer bowl by tapping the beater against it. It didn't seem like she hit it all that hard, but she broke it.

They are still made the same way - all metal parts - no plastic.My DH had to change out the grease in ours last year, and when he took it apart he was very impressed with how it was made. It was actually made previous to when my Mom got it in 1943 as that was the middle of WW11 and KA was making war materials those years, so our machine was probably actually built before 1941. However my Mom got it in Jan 1943 as a wedding gift. I don't use this machine nearly as much as my Mom did. She baked all the time and made wedding cakes and huge batches of cookies for cookie tables,esp. after she retired.

I am interested in Blue Willow, rather have Electric Blue.  Wish the TSV was the mini 3.5 qt.  Problem is the weight of the glass bowl when filled with ingredients.  My present KA is 25 years old and I have used it to death.  Still works but looking to down-size with a splash of color.

@SharkE

want mine????????  I am wondering if we are going to survive this remodel (and we're only on day 3🙄😬).

He's usually not interested in anything but now that his 💸💸 is coming out of his wallet he had the nerve ask me "what's in the box? It's from QVC"

really?  Like it's something new Q boxes coming daily!!! lol

and the poor contractor is probably saying "dear God doesn't this guy have a golf game?". he's "inspecting" and watching every move this guy is making...and spouse doesn't have a clue!!!!  I just suggested i'll take you out to lunch so the contractor can work!

Gotta love it...your posts always make me 😀

have a great day!!!
