The Stop and Shop by us in NY was formerly Foodtown. I don't know if Foodtown still exists. Do you know who is the parent company for Stop and Shop? Here we have mostly Ralph's (Kroger) and Vons/Albertsons (Safeway).

Yes, Foodtown still does exist. There are many in the NYC area.

Stop & Shop is my favorite! So nice to see it mentioned here.

I can top that bogus sale - our Ralph's is advertising Land 0' Lakes butter for $2.99 and here's the catch - YOU HAVE TO BUY 10 OTHER ITEMS FROM THEIR LIST! Whaaaaaa?

I think in my Target ad that butter is $6.99 lb. My sister really flipped out when she read that. We make so many different desserts for the holidays and we have a couple protesters about so many but then I see these same complainers take a dinner plate and take a piece of each dessert. I just smile to my self. If my parents were alive they would be over 100 years old this year my terrific Mom was the best cook and she made beautiful dinners every night and it was always so funny she would tell my Dad what she cooked and he would give her a big hug and say " honey that sounds really good but what are we having for dessert"? Yes dessert is important around here so here comes the pies, cakes, jello salads, cookies, and what ever else we decide to make.
