Re: Coffee maker suggestions

I use a 10-cup Cuisinart Burr Grind and Brew, like it very much. The model is DGB-850.  A 12 cup model is available but since it's just me I didn't see the point. The coffee drips into a thermal carafe. It's super easy to clean and I love using whole beans to get truly fresh coffee every time.
There are 2 downsides. One is the lid for the carafe. The design is such that coffee sputters out from a steady pour as you get lower in what's left in the carafe. There are a lot of complaints about this. The other downside is that, for a thermal carafe, it doesn't hold the hot temperature as well as I would expect.

But I'd still recommend this, especially if you can get it for a good price. I paid $189, now could probably get it for less.

DH is the coffee drinker....he will only use the Mr. Coffee Switch model. It has one on/off button and that's all...no clock, timer, or other settings. He is a purist. He is on his second one now and I need to find another one as a backup. We kept the pot from the old one since a new one costs more than the whole coffeemaker now. Highly recommend. I usually buy at Walmart. We also had the Cuisinart grind and brew but the grinder broke shortly after we bought it. Back ot Mr. Coffee!

We both started working from home March 2020 and bought a percolater.  It was the best decision ever!  It makes great coffee in about 15-20 minutes.  i'm not sure of the brand, it's just a basic one we purchased from Amazon.
