I did this just a few days ago. I spritzed the cut part with lemon juice, put it in a plastic bag, and stored in the fridge. It was perfectly fine.

I appreciate the mention and glad you found more tips. I especially like the one about putting water on top of guacamole and the one about looking under the stem to see if an avocado is rotten...really good tips!

Go to amazon and search avocado saver. You will see a couple of devices...good reviews and about five dollars. Bed Bath and Beyond carries them too.

I have never had luck saving one & refuse to eat a brown one. I buy small avocados and eat the entire thing. I have heard to leave the seed in and put in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
