Wow....that terrible. I'm shocked.  I'm glad if it was insured.  Kind of reminds me of what Mary Beth once said.  She was making dinner (don't know what special occasion it was) She said she put her diamond (like I do, on a little ring tree) and afterwards it was gone.  They looked everywhere.  Then she got a diamonique It's not that safe on the little tree.....but that's awful.  One book I recently read started out with someone leaving a big diamond ring on the sink of public bathroom.  And it ends with the same diamond ring (changed hands, LOL) being left at another public bathroom.

Don't take off when washing hands when I'm out either

One is Synthetic (lab created diamonds) The other is Simulated (CZ)  All made by man's fingers & egos. (the rest grew in the ground)

I don't wear (rings) in the house.  I wear them going out (at work or date, etc) but keep them on washing my hands.  Constant hand washing wil wear out the rhodium plating among other things.  And silver is not friendly toward to too much water.
