I really dislike homes that are "open concept." The last thing I would want is to have my kitchen on display from my living room.

I'd make the couch a dull red and make the chair less intense.

To those wondering:  I believe the floor is tile.  Unfortunately they have chosen a grout that doesn't really "fool the eye".  (NOt that you really have to.)  I love the tile plank flooring for its practicality, but clearly some do not.
