Re: Taking Neutrals To The Next Level

All of the rooms in my house are very colorful, but I really admire neutral rooms.  I think the rooms in all of these pictures are beautiful.

Re: Taking Neutrals To The Next Level

I would be bored silly living in these rooms with nothing to catch my eye.  The last one and the one with the blue print chair at least have a little contrast although I don't like either one of them.  As for the others, just blah.

I like all of these rooms, I think there is enough color for the most part, but yet neutral enough to not be too distracting. I like to start out Neutral as well, and add pops of color along the way. I don't want anything too bright or "loud".. I also do not care for the antlers, but love the wall color! The 1st room has a perfect amount of color.

JMHO but I find the neutrals too boring and too impractical I can imagine what white couches and chairs would look like with normal wear and tear provided by me, my cats, and visiting guests------even with couches, chairs protected with Scotchguard! And that one room with the white carpet.....SMH!!!  Neutrals would get old very quickly with me...

Re: Taking Neutrals To The Next Level

I like these rooms more than I thought I would from the title. I think the introduction of a bit of color to each room is done well. There are a few pieces I would change, but overall, I like these spaces.

My favorites are the first living room and the bedroom.
My least favorite space is the last room.

I really dislike the antlers on the dark wall and the gold mirror in the last room.

All of these rooms are beautiful and very well done!  I enjoyed "walking" through them!

Re: Taking Neutrals To The Next Level

I'm just not a fan of a neutral room and coupled with the fact that I don't care for most of the furniture in each room is a huge turn off for me.  I could do the third one but it would still take an awful lot of tweaking.

Yes, I can understand about a white couch.  I get that a lot here so thought I would address it. I do try to find more pictures with colored sofa's but they are kind of hard to come by.

I used to feel that way about the white, too. Now, in my 70's, the grandkids are raised, and no pets so I decided to try it.  Also DH and I almost never set on the couch. We prefer comfy chairs. I needed it to lighten up a room and just that one couch made such a big difference. In fact I was amazed at the change it made as far as lightening up that room.   Mine is more cream with some tan running through it so it's not as stark as white.  I may not have considered it, however,  if I had pets or little kids running around so I really do get it!

I kind of like them all---usually not an animal print fan but that one room just catches my eye! I feel calm looking at them altho still too much stuff. I like  colors on the walls and white as an accent. Never would have white upholstery everywhere tho.

I love them all. It is so much fun starting with neutrals and then adding pieces you love. I expecially like the fact that these styles are never trendy and can show the owner's personality in a unique way.
