I spent several summer vacations at Maine and stayed at Bar Harbor with the beautiful Arcadia National Park as my daily retreat!  I also had a friend who had a  home at an island near Camden, Maine.  Her home was lovely and also had a small guest house surrounded by many acres.  I think that was the first time I was as they say, green with envy!!!!!  I also befriended an elderly woman from NY who had a cottage as she called it on the water on another island near Bar Harbor.  What a place it was, not fancy but had family history complete with servants and nannies and a place filled with rooms.

I love this home of course, just being at Maine would sell it to me.  I would make some changes to suit my taste but what a dream for me!!!!!!

That tub looks narrow enough that a person could find themselves stuck if they weren't pencil thin.

There are parts that I love and parts that I hate.

Oh, Bar Harbor, @spiderw, I envy you!  My Dad drove us all one summer to Boothbay Harbor, and it was a dream.  Coastal Maine, love, love, love it-- nowhere else like it, is there....

For a retreat, this house is a cutie and unique.  Love the quaint kitchen.  Not so much the stairs...a bit dangerous.

I'd add some color if the house was mine, but for a vacation, I love it as is.

A+

Like the house. Don't like the decor. Too much grey and other neutrals, too much contemporary looking furniture and too many slip covers, too much of the 'weathered' wood look and not enough color. I do like the windows and French doors in what appears to be the master bedroom, the windows in the bath and the pretty stone work surrounding the fireplace.

In my pantry with my cupcakes...

Too neutral, brown and blah for me.

Too rustic looking for me. Not really a fan of distressed furniture. I dislike the kitchen most of all. Needs some color.
