I had a couple and liked them except for the fact that they shed like crazy. I vacuumed and vacuumed and the little fiber shedding got all over everything. It would be stuck to my pants just by walking across it.

I believe all wool carpets shed.

They do mousiegirl and most of the time, last forever. I'm sorry the OP is having trouble with hers. It doesn't sound as if she is physically able to deal with this problem.

I echo the sentiments here. It is so disheartening to have faith in a company that has given you good service and products over the years, to then decline in quality. It is happening everywhere, and I am so fed up with it.

Not that this may help OP, but we have taken to buying good vintage wares when possible. Everything from linens, towels, cookware, dishes, tools, clothing, just about anything that was made in the old days, was made to last, and can still be found at auctions, thrift stores, and garage sales.

You shouldn't have to replace something that expensive so soon, and I'd try to research a number or address to the actual company doing the manufacturing. This is the problem with buying a "proprietary" brand from Q. They are often very tight lipped about how to contact the manufacturer directly, and they refuse to make it right after a period of time. Good luck with this.

I'm sorry you're having problems with your rugs. I, too, have several smaller rugs that I've had for several years with no problems. I'm appalled to hear that a QVC customer service person would tell you to "DEAL WITH IT"!!! I hope you got the name of the person so that you can report them to a supervisor. They should be fired immediately, if that's what they told you to do.

Re: Royal palace rugs beware

First: I am not surprised with the CS rep's attitude. I have had essentially the same response in the past, from more than one rep. Ask for a supervisor.

Second: this is a very unusual problem for Royal Palace. I have eight in my great room right now, and they are in great shape even when dealing with the birds and the bunny. I think if it was a three months or less they might have helped you, but I think you're out of luck. You could contact your state Consumer Protection Department and file a complaint, but that may not get you new merchandise.

Third: I buy most of my RP rugs on eBay. They must be overstock or from outlet stores, because they are in perfect shape. The prices are now much higher than they used to be, but they are still great deals.

Good luck!

I cannot, for one New York minute, believe that a CS rep. would have used those words.

Re: Royal palace rugs beware

Two peas in sorry if you find it hard to believe but it's not my first issue with grumpy CS employees. I actually got a call from a supervisor due to unkind words/ accusations. Some people scam and are dishonest and I'm not one of them. I tell it like it is and honest yo a fault. Obviously you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT NEW YORK, but nice Olsen twins rip off. And No I didn't report them. I am Ill and want not well enough for yet another back and forth. I'm disappointed and aggravated yes. Especially when I know what the quality used to be. I got a bad batch. Smiley Sad. My moms are fine. But thank you for calling me a liar. I will hold my tongue though

Re: Royal palace rugs beware

I know they are beautiful. I gave away 2 that were 10 and 8 yrs old! Beautiful. No damage still color rich. But didn't fit decor change. Forget shedding. Think connect the bald spots. These rugs had the silk threads in them which is what started the balding. The silk strands started coming out in clumps making it easy for the wool to follow. Yes as aggravated as I am and the quality lately has been less than par so much I now watch hsn, I'm kicking myself in the rear for letting my old rugs go. I can't afford to replace them due to overwhelming medical bills. Smiley Sad

Re: Royal palace rugs beware

I have 3 of them that are a couple of years old and they have held up well. I think you should take photos and contact the manufacturer.
