Valerie"s Mason Jars - Timer Question

Somewhere I read these have only a FOUR hour timer - is that right? If so, that may be a reason for me not to get them.

What do you all think - does the length of the timer bother you, or is it not a big deal?

Re: Valerie""s Mason Jars - Timer Question

I just looked at the paper I have showing these jars, and it does say 4 on 20 off.

That does surprise me because 4 hrs is not very long...I've been requesting 8 hr timers on items. I'll have to really fall for them when I see them to go for that...just my opinion !

deja vu

Re: Valerie""s Mason Jars - Timer Question

It makes me think the batteries don't last long.

Re: Valerie""s Mason Jars - Timer Question

I had another idea about the timers. Thought maybe it could be due to the fact most people might use them outside during the summer season. It doesn't get dark til around 8:30-9PM. So, if you set them to come on at 8:30 or 9 then they'll go off at 12:30 or 1AM. Could apply to inside too. Seems like plenty of time to enjoy them.

May seem to be odd reasoning but that's how my mind works. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I think you're onto something. That makes sense.

Re: Valerie""s Mason Jars - Timer Question

Valerie just said on air it's a SIX hour timer. The page says FOUR.

Re: Valerie""s Mason Jars - Timer Question

I so wanted to get some of these...just read early reviews and one mentioned that the batteries only lasted three weeks. It IS only one review, but I am now on the fence...wonder if anyone else has them already? (There is one glowing review and one middling...only three posted total.) Thanks for any imput. =)

P.S.Batteries could be old, etc. - or there could have been other issues...that is why I was wondering if others may have them and have had any concerns with the batteries lasting.

Shawn specifically asked about this just now, and Valerie said SIX! Smile

There were quite a few bad reviews posted on the pre-order item number, H202770. Unfortunately, QVC removed the item listing so I don't know if there is a way to read those reviews anymore. I do recall at least one of them saying the lights quit after only a week. I don't recall if they meant failed to light entirely, or if just the batteries needed changing, but either case wouldn't be a good thing. Sorry I can't help more. Some of the really early reviews can be "way out there" anyway. Just my opinion.

Re: Valerie""s Mason Jars - Timer Question

The lights are just a removeable strand of battery-operated led lights put inside the jar. If I get any of these jars, I'll use one of my electric 20 light strands of led lights. They're called Tiny lights and cost less than $5 at the hardware store. You would need a nearby outlet to plug in the electric led lights. I've been using them all winter and the cord is very tiny and easy to hide on the backside of my display. I have a remote control cord which I use to turn them on and off.
