Mixed Seating in DR or Breakfast Nook

Do you like mixed seating options, like a bench/banquette and chairs?

I like it if I get to sit in the most comfortable place! Like a couch with a back, or a super soft bench with a back to it. Someone else can have the hard uncomfortable chair.

But as far as looks, (except in this picture the chair is not attractive to me), I think it can look good.

Love this!  Looks welcoming and relaxing.  As previous poster said, I would change out the chair.  But I like this look!

Not for me. I prefer balance.

I love everything about this room.

I don’t know how comfortable the seats are but it looks very nice.

Although I prefer symmetry, one eclectic room in the house is a lot of fun to decorate. Benches & chairs photo was nice. Inherited grandmother's 100 year old table, in great shape. Didn't take unstable chairs. Shopped forever for chairs that go well with table. Then, decided all 8 chairs around table would be different styles. Each family member gravitated to their favorite chair. Many compliments about how delightfully unusual this was. Gave to son who has a growing family. They love it, too.

I love that look and if you have the right space to do that I think it's great.  We're building a new house and when I was doing my kitchen cabinets the person helping me said that I needed symmerty and I that I didn't have symmerty.  I showed her my kitchen in the house I was living in at the time and I told her that I didn't have symmerty in that kitchen and that I loved it.  Sometimes I like symmerty and somtimes I don't, it's all a matter of taste and it's my house and I'm the one that has to live with it.
