Okay Ms Lola @lolakimono top to bottom here we go - I love this one esp'ly the flowers on the table. I've had these in bouquets in my home.

Yep, can do both of these two. Love the tree topped table for two. This would be my DH & 'dale Ozzie sitting on the bench with us!

@lolakimono There are pieces & parts here I like but all without the table. Feels like I'm eating in my library.

That sure looks like a library table, not a dining table.

Re: Mixed Seating in DR or Breakfast Nook

For ease of seating our large family we have an 8 foot table with a long wooden bench on one side that was made with the table.  On the opposite side we have traditional dining room chairs.  The bench makes it much easier to sit extra people when there is company without bringing out more chairs. Our bench is not as fancy, cushy, or comfy as the pictures which have been shared but we love it.

Re: Mixed Seating in DR or Breakfast Nook

When I was little my Dad made a booth in our kitchen in the corner. 2 sides had the bench seating and 2 had chairs. Since there were 7 in our family it worked out to hold a lot more than just chairs would have. However with all those boys there was a lot of pushing, shoving , hitting and stealing food went on at that table. My Mom wasn't too interested in getting in between all our little squables.

Re: Mixed Seating in DR or Breakfast Nook

I have never cared for the look of a banquette.  If I ever bought a home that had one, I would have DH tear it out.  That is JMO.  The pictures are of very well appointed rooms, however.

I like mixed seating in a casual setting. I do not care for it as much in a formal dining space.

Re: Mixed Seating in DR or Breakfast Nook

I don’t like the design in the first photo @lolakimono  sorry, but the table egads!!  Don’t care for banquette seating anywhere, all that scooting over to get in yourself and then sliding over to make room for new comers.

@Iwantcoffee , Like your 1st photo, I look for balance rather than repetition. This mini banquette is easily accessed, like the mix of textures that relate to one another.  Love that table!
